Job Description Born and Raised has a fantastic opportunity for an intuitively insightful, wildly creative, social media-forward Senior Strategist, Social Media & Innovation. In this role, you will lead strategy and development for a portfolio of consumer brands in achieving brand longevity by guiding the creative brief process, brand strategy development, and on-going brand and campaign planning, with a particular emphasis on social channels, AI integration and digital innovation. This position requires someone who speaks with authority, can work a room, and who is comfortable navigating through ambiguity while leading with conviction. The right Strategist for this position loves the work itself, lives at the intersection of data, technology, culture and creativity, and is an advertising nerd at heart with an insatiable curiosity for all things social and emerging media. Responsibilities: • Develop brand planning initiatives across a portfolio of clients by proposing marketing and advertising recommendations that integrate consumer insights, cultural trends, category movement, media platform function and business knowledge., • Partner with clients to discuss brand health, business performance, and untapped opportunities for the client’s brand., • Social media savvy - able to skillfully apply social-first approaches to client challenges and opportunities., • Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies for clients and agency brand., • Conduct market research and social listening to inform strategy and identify trends., • Create content plans, ensuring alignment with brand voice and objectives., • Analyze performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, conversions) and present actionable insights., • Coordinate with creative, PR, influencer and paid media teams to integrate social with broader campaigns., • Stay current with platform updates, new tools, emerging trends, prompt engineering and other related skills., • Guide the agency team through qualitative, quantitative, and/or secondary research efforts across consumer, culture, category, and competition to unlock interesting and unexpected insights as the driving force behind campaigns., • Craft insightful and powerful creative briefs that inspire the best creative thinking., • Assist with the development of brand platforms for clients that need foundational brand strategy work, including brand positioning, brand promise, brand attributes, values, purpose statements, voice and tone, and emotional and functional brand messaging., • Bridge Creativity, Data, and Technology: link creative, data, and technology, operationalizing AI across both agency operations and client work while acting as a connector between teams and disciplines., • Identify and implement AI use cases: determine where AI, automation, or data modeling will provide measurable business value - not just efficiency gains, but tangible results tied to business objectives. Partner with Director of AI and Technology to further agency’s AI toolkit., • Apply AI to accelerate broader business strategies, foster innovation, and solve high-impact challenges for clients and the agency., • Collaborate with clients to sell-in strategies across matrixed organizations., • Design and facilitate workshops with clients that are consultative in nature, from assessing their brand longevity to running exercises that help C-suite teams arrive at Vision/Purpose concepts., • Support the new business machine by representing Brand Strategy in pitches with research, creative briefs, and pitch day presentations; additionally, support RFP responses, proposal developments, and project scopes. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. * Requirements: Qualifications: • 5-7 years of experience in advertising or brand planning, • Agency background required, • 1+ years of experience mentoring junior -level strategists/planners, • Demonstrated experience in both Campaign Planning and Brand Strategy, • Knowledge of best practices and fluency across all relevant current social channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat, Google, etc.) as well as emerging and niche social channels, • Applied AI Expertise: Fundamental understanding of AI models—how they “think,” operate, and function—is required to make informed decisions about their application., • Curiosity and Willingness to Experiment: Success in this role demands ambition, adaptability, and a track record of experimenting with new technologies, tools, and strategies., • Continuous Learning: Staying abreast of the rapidly evolving AI landscape is crucial, as is maintaining up-to-date sources and alerts to follow news and developments., • Technical and Business Fluency: fluency with emerging technologies, business processes, and the ability to align AI solutions with measurable organizational goals., • Possesses a deep understanding of platform best practices across other digital channels, • Insatiable curiosity about what drives consumer behavior, • Obsessed with culture – current trends, and where culture is heading, • The ability to peel back the layers and go deep – critical thinking at its finest, • Creative writing and effective presentation skills with the ability to connect with the audience, • Influential communication skills across the board, • The ability to sell-in ideas and strategy to just about any room, • Excellent organizational and project management skills, • Team player and nurturer of healthy workplace culture, • A self-starter who has an entrepreneurial spirit, endless career ambition, and is resourceful, • A true believer in the power of brands and the role they play in our lives, • A range of previous work and experiences that demonstrate bold, brave, and brilliant thinking and execution, • Someone who loves marketing and advertising (REALLY loves it!)
