Position Summary The Plastic Injection Molding Operator is responsible for safely operating Arburg plastic injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components for WET’s proprietary products. This role focuses on following established work instructions, loading and unloading materials and parts, performing basic quality checks, packaging finished products, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This is an operator-level role. The Operator will follow established machine settings and production procedures and will notify a supervisor, lead, or technician when equipment issues, quality concerns, or process changes are needed. Responsibilities Operate plastic injection molding machines, including 77-, 275-, and 750-ton Arburg machines, in accordance with established work instructions and safety procedures Load raw materials, inserts, molds, or components as directed Remove molded parts from machines and perform trimming, de-gating, sorting, and basic finishing as required Inspect finished parts for visual defects, correct dimensions, color, surface quality, and overall conformance to work instructions, sample parts, and specifications Identify and report defective, damaged, or out-of-specification parts to the Lead, Supervisor, or Technician Package, label, count, and prepare finished parts for the next production step or shipment Accurately complete production records, quality documentation, material identification, and other required paperwork Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper disposal of scrap and adherence to 5S practices Follow all company safety policies, including required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe lifting practices, and machine guarding procedures Perform basic operator-level machine care, such as keeping the machine area clean and reporting leaks, unusual noises, alarms, or other equipment concerns Assist with secondary operations as needed, including cutting, drilling, sanding, grinding, shearing, sawing, bending, tapping, assembly, and packaging Support material movement and replenishment as directed Work effectively with team members, Leads, Technicians, Quality, and Production Supervisors to meet daily production goals Maintain flexibility to support changing production priorities and work overtime as needed. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications 1+ year of experience operating plastic injection molding machines in a manufacturing or production environment preferred Experience operating Arburg injection molding machines is a plus Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining attention to detail and product quality Basic ability to inspect parts against samples, visual standards, drawings, or specifications Experience with trimming, de-gating, packaging, labeling, or other secondary manufacturing operations preferred Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring tools, as required Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding production, safety, or quality concerns Good verbal and written communication skills Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a production team Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, as business needs require Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly using proper lifting techniques Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements Ability to bend, reach, twist, and work overhead as needed Ability to safely perform work in a manufacturing environment around production equipment WET is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
