Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing perioperative team, providing high-quality care in both dental and ophthalmology surgical settings. The RN Pre-Op & PACU is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient procedures, ensuring patient safety, adherence to sterile technique, and smooth perioperative flow. The ideal candidate is proactive, clinically competent, team-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical environment while maintaining a strong commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice. Key Responsibilities: • Provide nursing care, ensure an environment of patient safety, promote evidence-based practice and quality initiatives., • Conduct focused nursing assessments for the outpatient surgical population, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care., • Collect information on patient identification, medical history, medications, NPO status, allergies, and required precautions., • Evaluate vital signs, surgical site verification, diagnostic results, and anesthesia risk assessments., • Perform medication reconciliation to prevent discrepancies and medication errors., • Provide IV therapy, electrophysiology procedures- pacemaker/ICD placement, etc., • Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, anesthesia, post-operative expectations, and discharge instructions., • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)., • Monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery phase., • Assess airway, breathing, circulation, neurological status, and pain management., • Administer medications and interventions as indicated., • Recognize and respond to post-operative complications., • Facilitate safe discharge planning and transitions of care., • Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and follow-up instructions., • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing, • RN license to practice in the state of New York, • BLS certification required, • 0-2 years experience, new graduates welcomed, • Fluent in English. Bilingual abilities are strongly preferred, including Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Korean and Russian, • Based in Brooklyn and able to commute to Flushing, Queens for training Schedule: • Typical schedule: Monday-Friday (with possibility of early morning start for first case). Weekends sometimes., • No major holidays or weekends (though some ASCs may require occasional flexibility).
