Job Description Registered Nurse – Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) Travel Position Location: El Paso, TX Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3×12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Pay: $2,050.20/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in El Paso, TX. The RN will provide advanced, patient-centered care to critically ill neurological and post-surgical patients, including those recovering from CABG, TAVR, kidney transplants, and other complex procedures. This role requires expertise in critical care nursing, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and neurological assessment. The unit operates with a supportive, team-based culture that values collaboration, accountability, and professional growth. Key Responsibilities • Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients with complex neurological and critical care needs., • Perform frequent neurological assessments, manage ICP monitoring systems (Cerelink), and oversee targeted temperature management (TTM) with the Arctic Sun device., • Manage advanced cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring using Edwards Hemosphere systems., • Care for patients requiring continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT/Tablo) and Impella support., • Administer medications, monitor sedation levels, and titrate drips in accordance with unit protocols., • Collaborate closely with physicians, charge nurses (CNCs), and multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans., • Maintain patient ratios of 1:2, ensuring safety and high-quality care., • Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the Meditech EMR system., • Adhere to hospital standards, infection control practices, and unit policies, including attendance at pre-shift huddles and monthly meetings., • Active RN license in Texas or a compact state., • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)., • Minimum of 2 years of recent critical care experience required; Neuro ICU experience preferred., • Strong background in managing post-cardiac surgical patients (CABG, TAVR) and transplant recovery., • Proficiency with advanced ICU technology: Edwards Hemosphere, Cerelink ICP, Arctic Sun, CRRT (Tablo), and Impella., • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (additional facility-required certifications as applicable)., • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test., • Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills in high-acuity situations., • Weekly pay with competitive rates, • Health, dental, and vision insurance, • 401(k) retirement plan with company match, • Referral bonuses for referring talented professionals into our network ATC Healthcare has been a leader in healthcare staffing for nearly 40 years, offering personalized placement and support to healthcare professionals nationwide.
