Known for our responsive service, skilled team, and community-first approach, we are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Low-Voltage Service Technician to help us continue delivering peace of mind to clients who depend on us. Position Overview As Lead Service Technician at Linked Alarm, you will be the primary field expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining low-voltage systems. This position will transition into a Service Manager. You will manage service calls from initial troubleshooting through documentation and billing, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and efficiency at every step. This role requires strong technical skills, independent decision-making, strong customer communication skills, and ownership of the end-to-end service process. What You’ll Do Service & Technical Responsibilities • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm, intrusion, access control, CCTV, and intercom systems, • Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls to minimize client downtime, • Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections, • Program, configure, and reconfigure panels, devices, and system software, • Ensure all work complies with NEC, NFPA 72, and applicable local codes, • Communicate findings clearly and professionally with clients, • Generate accurate repair and upgrade quotes from the field, • Obtain client approval for additional billable work, • Educate customers on system operation and preventative care, • Accurately document service calls, labor hours, parts used, and recommendations, • Submit complete service reports daily, • Ensure billable work is properly captured and communicated to the office, • Review alarm signal reports and identify recurring troubles, communication failures, or system deficiencies, • Proactively recommend service visits based on signal activity trends, • Coordinate daily workflow with dispatch for efficient routing and scheduling, • Maintain organized vehicle inventory and tool readiness, • Protect and maintain the company's equipment and vehicles, • 5+ years of field service experience in low voltage, fire alarm, or security systems, • Working knowledge of major platforms (Honeywell, Silent Knight, Notifier, Bosch, DSC, Hikvision, etc.), • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability, • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals, • Confidence working independently in commercial and residential environments, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Valid driver’s license with a clean record, • NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems, • Manufacturer certifications, • OSHA 10 or 30, • Service calls completed accurately and efficiently, • Clear documentation with minimal billing corrections, • Timely quote turnaround, • Proactive identification of system issues through signal review, • Positive client feedback and repeat service requestsCompany DescriptionLinked Alarm is a fast-growing, technology-driven security and life-safety company providing customized alarm, surveillance, and monitoring solutions for residential and commercial clients.
