Job Description Internship Summary: The Family Mental Health (FMH) Support Staff Intern provides exceptional customer service to all stakeholders, including clients, staff and independent contractors of the agency. FMH Support Staff Interns have the opportunity to learn more about the clinical side of outpatient clinic (potential to shadow counseling appointments) and other departments throughout the agency. Intern tasks may include: • Client engagement duties:, • Provide front desk receptionist duties, following standard customer services protocol; greet and welcome clients demonstrating sensitivity to client trauma history, mental health issues, cultural barriers & socio-economic challenges, • Participate in the phone queue as assigned, answering the telephone in a professional manner, resolving or routing the phone call appropriately, • Model and practice sensitivity, fair treatment and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions, • Complies with all agency policies and procedures, • Administrative support:, • Handle all duties that are necessary from the clinical staff and in regard to their client roster. These duties include mail distribution, faxing, case filing, assisting staff with problems they experience while using the computer system, etc., • Must be enrolled in a credit bearing internship course, within a BSW program or related field., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all work., • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
