POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a Senior Web Services Engineer to join our Web Services team and contribute to the development, maintenance, and modernization of a diverse portfolio of internal and client facing applications. This role requires strong expertise in custom PHP/MySQL development, WordPress custom plugin development, and modern front-end frameworks, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a story point, sprint-based environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong adherence to software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, can translate Figma designs into production?ready code, and is comfortable working across both traditional and modern web stacks. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain custom PHP and MySQL applications supporting business critical workflows Build and maintain custom WordPress plugins and integrations (not theme only or page builder work) Develop modern front-end applications using Next.js and React, with deployment experience on Vercel Convert Figma designs into clean, responsive, accessible code, collaborating closely with UX/UI designers Contribute to Cursor, assisted development workflows, leveraging AI tools responsibly to increase quality and velocity Develop and enhance SharePoint solutions, including customizations, integrations, and workflow improvements Participate actively in Agile sprint ceremonies, including grooming, planning, stand ups, reviews, and retrospectives Work within a story point / actual point sprint model, delivering predictable and measurable outcomes Collaborate with product managers, QA, designers, and other engineers to deliver high quality releases Adhere to established SDLC standards, including code reviews, testing, documentation, and deployment practices Troubleshoot, optimize, and refactor existing systems to improve performance, stability, and maintainability DESIRED SKILLSET/EXPERIENCE Strong experience with custom PHP development (procedural and/or OOP) Solid knowledge of MySQL, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization Proven experience building custom WordPress plugins (hooks, filters, REST APIs, custom post types, admin tools) Hands?on experience with Next.js and React in production environments Deployment experience using Vercel or similar modern hosting platforms Experience using Cursor or similar AI assisted development tools as part of daily development Demonstrated adherence to SDLC best practices (version control, code reviews, testing, release management) SharePoint development expertise, including customization and integration work Strong ability to translate Figma designs into pixel accurate, maintainable code Experience working in a sprint based Agile environment using story points and team commitments Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional team members Sourcepass participates in the E-Verify program.
