American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Downey, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/01/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in the ICU/CCU unit of a hospital setting, • Day shifts: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30, • Every other weekend is required, • Possible floating to Direct Observation Unit (DOU), Telemetry, or Medical Telemetry units, • Care for complex and multi-system organ failure patients using advanced monitoring and ventilation equipment, • Job duties include managing critical care interventions such as titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, administering continuous IV sedation, and providing care for ventilated patients, • Must follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions using appropriate PPE, • Modules are required before starting, and must be completed according to specialty, • No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed, and no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, • Must be willing to work assigned holidays, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, • Return staff eligibility determined on a case-by-case basis\n \n Requirements\n, • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience required, • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB or VIP, NIHSS, • Proficient in FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, cardiac dysrhythmia management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, • Ability to manage mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, hypothermia protocols, and advanced IV therapies, • References are required\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
