Job Description We are seeking a Senior Project Manager – Capital Projects who will oversee major transit and infrastructure projects from early planning through environmental review, engineering, right-of-way, construction, and start of service. This role manages project scope, budget, schedule, and coordination with public agencies, utilities, contractors, and community stakeholders. The position includes serving as the lead project manager for the Downtown Riverfront Streetcar project. Key Responsibilities • Lead day-to-day management of assigned capital projects, including major transit and rail initiatives., • Monitor and control project scope, budget, schedules, and risks; recommend adjustments as needed., • Direct and coordinate project teams, consultants, contractors, and internal departments., • Oversee contracts, permitting, environmental documentation, agency approvals, and utility coordination., • Prepare reports, technical documents, and updates for executives, elected officials, and community stakeholders., • Support annual budget development and provide input for performance evaluations of project team members., • Represent the organization in meetings, public presentations, and coordination with federal, state, regional, and local agencies. Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or related field., • Minimum 7 years of experience in project management, construction management, project controls, or contract administration for rail/transit or transportation projects., • At least 3 years of supervisory or team-lead experience., • Preferred Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE – CA), AICP, or PMP. Knowledge Areas • Project and construction management principles, • Scheduling, cost estimating, and project controls, • Contracting and procurement processes, • Environmental review, permitting, and funding programs, • Civil, track, and systems design and construction, • QA/QC practices and safety certification, • Utility coordination and claims management, • Applicable public works and transportation regulations Skills & Abilities • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage complex capital programs, • Communicate clearly in writing, presentations, and public meetings, • Analyze issues and propose effective project solutions, • Prepare project status reports (scope/schedule/cost), • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents, • Build and maintain strong relationships with agencies, contractors, and stakeholders, • Negotiate agreements and resolve project issues, • Use advanced project management and office software toolsCompany DescriptionFor over 30 years, clients and candidates have entrusted AtWork to provide workforce solutions nationwide.
