Job Description Role Summary Maintains the frozen and dairy departments in fully stocked, rotated, and presentable condition throughout the shift. Responsible for product freshness, case cleanliness, accurate pricing and tagging, and delivery verification for assigned departments. Provides attentive customer service on the floor and supports overall back-end operations as directed. Essential Responsibilities Customer Service • Greet customers in the frozen and dairy aisles and provide prompt assistance by answering questions and helping locate products., • Assist customers with product selection and provide basic product knowledge relevant to the department., • Escalate customer concerns or requests that cannot be resolved on the floor to a Team Lead or Floor Manager. Stocking & Merchandising • Break down frozen and dairy deliveries and unpack product from pallets and cases., • Stock freezers and coolers in the correct department locations; restock throughout the shift to prevent out-of-stocks., • Rotate all perishable inventory using FIFO to maintain freshness; inspect product during stocking and remove any expired, damaged, or compromised items., • Straighten and face freezers and coolers to maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable presentation., • Merchandise product to maximize freshness, availability, and visual presentation in accordance with store schematics and standards., • Verify shelf tags and pricing accuracy during stocking; report discrepancies to the Team Lead or POS Clerk for correction. Receiving & Inventory • Receive and inspect frozen and dairy deliveries for accuracy, temperature compliance, and product quality; flag any discrepancies, shortages, or quality concerns to the Team Lead or Floor Manager., • Log deliveries as required and communicate issues with shipments promptly., • Support department-level inventory counts and assist with monitoring stock levels to inform ordering needs. Maintenance, Safety & Compliance • Maintain clean and organized freezer cases, cooler doors, shelving, and surrounding floor areas throughout the shift., • Keep floors in the department free of spills, water, and debris; address hazards immediately and ensure the area is safe for customers and associates., • Follow food safety and temperature compliance standards for all frozen and refrigerated product handling., • Report equipment issues, temperature alarms, or case malfunctions to the Team Lead or Floor Manager immediately. Qualifications • Grocery or retail stocking experience preferred; frozen and dairy department experience a plus., • Basic understanding of FIFO rotation and perishable handling standards., • Ability to work in cold environments, including prolonged exposure to freezer and cooler temperatures., • Reliable attendance and ability to perform physical stocking tasks in a fast-paced environment. Work Schedule Part-time or full-time hourly role. Schedule varies and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Overtime must be pre-approved by the Store Manager. All time must be recorded accurately in accordance with company procedures. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Work is performed in a grocery retail environment and requires sustained mobility throughout the store and backroom. The role involves frequent standing and walking, regular bending, reaching, and crouching, and periodic pushing and pulling of carts and other wheeled equipment. Must be able to lift and reposition product and store materials as needed to perform essential functions. Work regularly includes extended exposure to freezer and cooler temperatures. Physical demands vary by store conditions, task frequency, load characteristics, and the availability of mechanical aids, and should be performed using safe work practices.
