Job Description KINDER-3RD TEACHER GENERAL INFORMATION: Villa Bella Expeditionary (VBE) is a newer K-8th District 70 charter school. VBE will use the Expeditionary Learning/professional development and Illustrative Math curriculum. VBE will follow the District 70 calendar but has required professional development at least one Friday a month. VBE seeks energetic, compassionate, hard-working individuals whose educational philosophies align with EL Education. REPORTS TO: Director PRIMARY FUNCTION: The teacher has the lead role in the classroom as a learning facilitator, instructor, coach, mentor, and tutor. The teacher provides a personalized learning environment for all students that incorporates collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, technology, and communication around meaningful learning targets based on the Colorado State Standards. The teacher provides a learning environment in which each student's achievement and growth are attained. QUALIFICATIONS: Certification: Colorado Educator License Education: Required – Bachelor Degree ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions to meet all Colorado State Teacher Standards., • Support the planning and implementation of the VBE's strategic plan., • Design, implement, and assess learning experiences that utilize research-based, culturally relevant instructional practices, technology, and digital information resources to implement the VBE's curriculum fully., • Respond to student needs derived from evaluation of student achievement data., • Collect and maintain student achievement data requested by the supervisor., • Embed effective instructional technology utilizing Apple TV, mobile devices, social, collaborative online communities, personalized learning software, web-based assessments, computer applications, and digital resources., • Apply knowledge to facilitate and communicate effective differentiated classroom practices and educational pedagogy appropriate to general education, English as a Second Language, and special education students., • Promote, support, and model exploration of real-world issues and solving authentic problems., • Customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities., • Evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice regularly to effectively use existing and emerging instructional practices and resources to support student learning., • Reflect collaboratively with teachers regularly on research-based differentiated instructional practices, integration of information technology, and student achievement., • Advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources., • Communicate effectively with parents through various methods and tools, including parent/teacher conferences, phone calls, e-mails, and meetings., • Demonstrate leadership by actively participating in building and district professional learning communities., • Maintain competency in information, technology, and media literacies by participating in online collaborative learning environments and professional learning activities., • Reflect on current competencies with an Expeditionary Learning curriculum, research-based instructional practices, and instructional technology to determine growth areas for personal and professional learning., • Maintain competency in research-based instructional practices, instructional technology, and information literacy standards by participating in appropriate professional learning activities (district professional learning, conferences, workshops, summer academic meetings) OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Complete other duties as assigned, such as mandatory Friday professional development, after-school meetings and activities, etc. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:TECHNICAL: Demonstrate proficiency in applying instructional technology standards for personal productivity and support instruction (productivity and presentation tools and software, multimedia equipment, online learning environments); possess basic organizational skills. INTERPERSONAL: Strong interpersonal skills, including problem-solving and investigative skills; effective and efficient time/task management skills; proficiency in reading, writing,g and speaking the English language; practical communication skills, including the ability to run effective meetings and facilitating collaboration and communication among groups, reliable and resourceful with a solid work ethic; sensitivity to cultural diversity and acceptance of all students. COMPENSATION: • We offer a competitive compensation package that includes comprehensive health benefits., • Salary Range: $42,500 - $75,000, • This position will be for the 2025-2026 school year
