Hedreen Co. is seeking an experienced, reliable and team-oriented Regional HVAC/R Technician to join our team. Our Regional HVAC/R Technician serves 4 hotels in Downtown Seattle including the Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Olive 8, and Renaissance. Job Responsibilities • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install commercial HVAC equipment and components to manufacturer’s recommendation i.e. compressors, valves, motors, belts, bearings, filters, lubrication, etc., • Equipment examples: heat pumps, central heating plant (utilizing steam and/or hot water for tempering or heating building), central chilled water plant (to provide cooling to building), cooling towers, coolers, chillers, refrigeration units, air handlers, PTAC’s, split systems, chiller packaged units, VAV systems, duct systems, exhaust systems, condensers, evaporators, coils, strip heaters, boilers, thermostats, VFDs, and hot water systems., • Operate computerized controls, • Maintain documentation for services performed and shop materials used, • Train other HVAC/R technicians and maintenance staff in preventative maintenance, repair, and care of commercial HVAC systems, • Respond to facilities related inquiries and emergencies, • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work and jobsite spaces Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Experience/Education Requirement: 7 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair of commercial HVAC systems, OR 2 years of technical school HVAC coursework in conjunction with 5 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair of commercial HVAC systems. License, Certification, and Other Requirements: City of Seattle Refrigeration Mechanic's License class A (required) (This requires 3 years of experience conducting refrigeration repair and installation, as an apprentice to or as a journeyman refrigeration and/or air conditioning mechanic; or 2 years of training in a recognized school of technology, plus one year of experience in the refrigeration trade; or 2 years full-time experience in the refrigeration trade and graduation from a recognized trade school of refrigeration technology.) L06A or EL07 Washington State Electrician Specialty License (required) • Minimum requirement of 4,000 hours of work experience under the supervision of a journey level electrician to obtain this license., • HVAC/refrigeration system (EL06A) Current Washington State driver's license or be able to obtain one by the start date (required) City of Seattle Grade Ill Steam Engineer's license (preferred) (This requires at least 3 years of employment in a position directly responsible for the operation of boilers, or educational substitution for experience, plus one year of experience.) Qualified Person under the Washington Clean Buildings Performance Standard (CBPS) – (required within 1-year of employment) Under Washington’s Clean Buildings Performance Standard (CBPS), a “qualified person” is defined in WAC 194-50 as someone who: • Has training, expertise, and three years of professional experience in building energy-use analysis, and Desired Qualifications: You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities: • Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and /or solve problems independently., • The ability to work within a diverse workforce., • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting or alone., • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal or written instructions., • Demonstrated ability to organize work, solve medium to complex problems and manage competing priorities., • Work experience in maintaining and operating digital control and energy management systems., • Provide excellent customer service, • This position requires full-time onsite work., • Required to stand, walk or bend for extended periods of time., • Required to lift objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds., • Work in confined spaces or at heights from ladders and scaffolds, • May require handling or working with toxic/hazardous substances., • Required to work outdoors in all types of weather., • Must comply with PPE standards and all safety guidelines., • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints., • Work shift mostly during regular daytime hours, but can include swing or graveyard shifts. This position is classified as regular, Full-Time. It is FLSA non-exempt and is eligible for overtime. The full range for this position is $ 45 - $ 65 per hour.
