Job Description ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to oversee all financial operations for a private family office with multiple business entities, real estate holdings, and international activities. This role manages the financial health of several companies and investment properties, ensuring accuracy, compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic insight for owners and senior leadership. This is a hands-on position ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented finance leader who thrives in a multi-entity, fast-moving environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Management & Reporting • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting for multiple companies and real estate properties., • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual P&Ls, cash flow statements, and consolidated reports., • Maintain accurate general ledgers, intercompany entries, and supporting documentation across all entities., • Prepare financial presentations and summaries for owners and executives. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management • Develop and manage annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts., • Monitor cash flow needs across businesses, real estate properties, and international accounts., • Provide proactive analysis to support investment decisions and operational planning. Real Estate Financial Oversight • Oversee financials for rental properties, development projects, and investment real estate., • Track property performance, operating costs, CapEx, and return metrics., • Work closely with property management on rent rolls, maintenance costs, and expense allocation. Multi-Entity Corporate Accounting • Manage financials for multiple LLCs, partnerships, and operating businesses., • Ensure proper recording of revenue, expenses, reimbursements, and owner distributions., • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and international requirements. Tax Coordination & Compliance • Coordinate with external CPA firms on tax filings (federal, state, property, and business)., • Ensure accuracy and organization of year-end financial packages and supporting schedules., • Maintain entity records, annual filings, franchise tax reports, and compliance calendars. International Operations • Support financial transactions with international subsidiaries or vendors., • Monitor FX considerations, intercompany funding, and global financial documentation. Process Improvement & Systems • Streamline accounting workflows, reporting tools, and document management systems., • Implement best practices for controls, reconciliation, approvals, and financial transparency., • Evaluate software options for accounting, bill pay, and reporting automation. Executive Support & Strategic Decision Making • Work directly with ownership on strategic financial planning and investment evaluation., • Provide clear, actionable insights regarding risks, opportunities, and scenario forecasts., • Serve as a trusted advisor to the family office and portfolio company leadership. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred). CPA a must., • 7+ years of multi-entity accounting or finance experience., • Strong understanding of GAAP, consolidation, and real estate accounting., • Experience managing books for multiple companies simultaneously., • Proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or other accounting platforms., • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling, financial analysis)., • Experience working with external auditors, CPAs, or tax advisors., • High integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
