American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 06/02/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Jun 2, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, • 13-week contract, • Adult and geriatric patient population covering all emergency diagnoses, including CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, TBI, spinal cord injury, cardiac dysrhythmias, orthopedic trauma, and gunshot wounds, • Patient ratio of 1:5, • Dedicated pediatric ED, crisis intervention unit, and trauma suite on-site, • Special equipment includes Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment, • Epic EMR experience required, • Every other weekend required, • Every other holiday required, as needed, • Floating within skillset requiredRequirements, • Active NY single-state RN license currently in hand (NY is not a Compact state), • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — valid NIHSS must be included for consideration, • Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience, • Proficiency in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and IV vasopressors, • Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management, • Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, • Experience with emergency care including adult and pediatric presentations, trauma, and triage, • Isolation precautions experience required, • Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration, • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for considerationAdditional Information, • The ED is a state-of-the-art, 24/7 facility with a centralized layout, advanced diagnostic technology, and a trauma suite steps from the ambulance entrance, • The hospital is a 528-bed Magnet-recognized, acute care teaching facility certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center, affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, • Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
