Job Description Position Summary: To provide the best orthopedic care available by following best medical care practices and physician protocols, deliver a high volume of orthopedic care by optimizing the provider-patient contact time by ensuring all patients are adequately prepared prior to seeing the physician and to ensure that all patients thoroughly understand their condition, participate in their care, receive all appropriate information, scripts, patient education materials, etc., to adhere to their care plan per the provider’s instructions and protocols. Qualifications: • High School Diploma required., • Medical Assistant Diploma, Registered Medical Assistant license, MA Certification or equivalent required., • To provide excellent customer service to all patients, visitor and coworkers, • Prepare all patient charts in Athena for visit by ensuring that all pertinent records, test results, imaging and referral information is available., • Retrieves patient’s digital images from Medview system on exam room monitors during clinic for physician review, per clinic protocol., • Ensures that zones are adequately stocked for the clinic, including medical supplies, injectables and patient information brochures or handouts., • Escorts the patients into the exam rooms and completes patient intake documentation per clinic protocol., • Prepares patient for visit with provider by removing sutures, staples, dressings, etc, having patient change as necessary, positioning patient for exam or procedure and completing any necessary consents., • Assists the physician during visit with injections or office procedures., • Prepares prescriptions, excuse notes, referrals and patient education materials., • Ensures that the patient understands the physician’s instructions for sample medications and follow-up care., • Ensures all DCW25 work comp status forms are completed; a copy is provided to the patient and originals are returned to front desk staff for submission to WC department., • Breakdown of patient charts with appropriate disposal of PHI, completion and scanning of patient forms, records, etc., • Clean zone and exam rooms, ensuring red bags and sharps boxes are replaced if applicable., • Re-stocks all exam rooms and MA station for the next day clinic, • Ensures the safety and security of all PHI in accordance with state and federal HIPPA regulations., • All other duties as assigned. What You'll Do • Support your assigned provider(s) by preparing exam rooms, escorting patients, and assisting with procedures including injections and dressing changes., • Educate patients on post-visit instructions, ensure prescriptions are accurate, and verify information in our electronic systems., • Review and verify patient vitals and medical histories for accuracy, ensuring all intake information received through tablets is complete and reliable., • Ensure a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical workspace at all times., • You have reliable transportation and are comfortable traveling to nearby offices to accompany Provider in clinic or to provide clinic coverage., • You excel in high-volume, high-stress environments (clinics may see 60–100+ patients/day depending on specialty and staffing)., • You value teamwork, adaptability, and accountability, and take pride in supporting your physician and patients., • You understand that clinic success is built on collaboration, and you’re committed to showing up with professionalism and a can-do attitude every day., • High School Diploma or equivalent (required), • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification (required), • BLS Certification (required within 90 days of hire), • Open to flexible work hours and travel, • Experience in orthopaedics, trauma, or a high-volume practice, • Athena EMR experience, • A stable, full-time assignment with one of Florida’s top orthopedic practices., • Opportunity to grow through clear career advancement paths., • Focused clinical role meaning no check-in/check-out duties, occasional scheduling only.
