Job Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Security Technician to install, maintain, and repair electronic security systems for commercial and industrial clients. This role involves working with surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarms, fire detection devices, and structured cabling systems. Candidates must be flexible with varying work hours depending on project demands. Occasional out-of-town work may be required (hotel provided plus $45/day per diem). The ideal candidate has strong electrical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Key Responsibilities Installation & Repair • Install, wire, and mount surveillance cameras, motion sensors, keypads, control panels, and related low-voltage devices, • Install and terminate Cat6/Cat6A cabling, • Terminate jacks, patch panels, and perform proper cable management, • Install electric strikes, card readers, motion detectors, and door contacts, • Program and configure Axis Communications IP cameras, • Install and configure Algo Solutions IP paging horns and speakers, • Configure access control systems and intrusion detection software, • Diagnose and resolve system issues such as low batteries, false alarms, faulty wiring, broken connections, and network connectivity problems, • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and structured cabling issues, • Train end-users on proper system operation, • Provide technical support and respond to service requests, • Offer after-hours emergency support as needed, • Ensure all installations meet local safety codes and industry standards, • Maintain organized documentation of installations and service records, • Follow company safety procedures at all times Qualifications • 3–5 years of experience as a Security or Low Voltage Technician, • Experience with structured cabling installation and termination, • Proficiency using a Fluke Cat6A cable tester, • Experience installing IP cameras, paging systems, and access control hardware, • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, • Ability to work flexible hours and travel when required, • Strong customer service and communication skills, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Additional Information • Phone interview required for all candidates, • Hotel provided for out-of-town work, • $45 per day per diem for travel assignments, • Pass a Background check, • Pass a Drug Screen., • Interview Required.
