American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Kingwood, Texas. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVOR, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/06/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 6, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Located in the Operating Room of a 457-bed hospital with 14 ORs, including one dedicated Open Heart Room, • Assigned to the Open Heart CVOR unit on the 1st floor of the South Tower, • 1:1 patient ratio in a cardiovascular surgery environment, • Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, • Call coverage required after 3:00 PM and on weekends; night shift is call coverage only, • Holiday call coverage is required, • Floating to other OR service lines (Trauma, General, Gyn, Uro, Ortho, Neuro, Plastics) when no open heart cases are scheduled, • EMR: Meditech, • 13-week contractRequirements, • Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date), • Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR/open heart experience required, • Open heart and cardiothoracic service line experience is required — candidates without these skills will not be considered, • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted, • One professional reference required, • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 monthsAdditional Information, • Typical procedures include CABG (with and without EVH), Impella insertions, pericardial windows, valve replacements, and ECMO, • Experience in additional OR service lines (Trauma, Gen, Gyn, Uro, Ortho, Neuro, Plastics) is preferred, as staff float to other ORs when no open heart cases are scheduled, • Navy blue scrubs required, • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
