Job DescriptionJob Title: CNC Lathe Machinist Job Description This role focuses on operating and setting up CNC lathes to machine precision aerospace components, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to tight tolerances in a production environment. Responsibilities • Set up CNC lathes for production runs, including installing and aligning tooling, chucks, and fixtures according to job specifications., • Operate CNC lathes to machine aerospace components to precise dimensions and tolerances., • Interpret and follow work instructions, job travelers, and part requirements to complete machining tasks accurately., • Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments to offsets or tooling, and ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirements., • Perform basic troubleshooting on CNC lathe equipment to resolve machining issues and maintain consistent production., • Inspect finished parts visually and dimensionally to confirm compliance with specifications., • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures while operating CNC machinery., • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work, meet production schedules, and support continuous improvement efforts.Essential Skills, • Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes in a production environment., • Proficiency in CNC lathe setup, including tooling, fixturing, and program selection., • Experience with CNC machining for aerospace or other precision manufacturing applications., • Ability to work with horizontal CNC equipment as required., • Strong understanding of machining processes and basic troubleshooting of CNC machines., • Ability to read and follow work instructions and part requirements accurately.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience in aerospace machining or other high-precision industries is highly beneficial., • Familiarity with both first and second shift production environments., • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate parts., • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to support team goals.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a manufacturing shop environment with CNC lathes and related machining equipment. The role is available on multiple shifts, including a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a second shift starting between 2:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. You will spend most of the day on the production floor working around machinery, metal components, and standard industrial tools, following all safety procedures and wearing appropriate shop attire and personal protective equipment as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Valencia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
