Purpose The Director of Human Resources will lead the Human Resources, Administration, and Safety departments. This will include recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, investigations, safety programs, compensation and benefits, compliance, and worker's compensation. This role is critical in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring the workforce is engaged, motivated, and aligned with CEEUS's goals. Nature and Scope This position provides strategic leadership and hands-on management of the HR department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values. The Director of HR partners closely with executive leadership and department managers to attract, retain, and develop top talent, maintain legal compliance, and strengthen organizational culture. The role manages a small HR team, oversees benefits, administration, and serves as a trusted advisor to employees at all levels of the company. Qualities | The Director of Human Resources we are looking for are: • Strategic Thinker: Aligns HR initiatives with organizational goals, • People-Focused: Builds strong relationships with employees and leadership, • Ethical: Maintains integrity, confidentiality, and trust in all matters, • Collaborative: Works effectively across all levels and departments, • Innovative: Identifies and implements creative solutions to HR challenges, • Decisive: Makes informed decisions in a timely manner, • Communicative: Clearly conveys policies, expectations, and changes, • Adaptable: Responds effectively to evolving business and workforce needs, • Organized: Balances multiple priorities with efficiency, • Results-Oriented: Measures and drives outcomes in all HR programs Job Responsibilities • Manage human resources functions and programs including, but not limited to, the administration of compensation plans, insurance and benefit programs, employee relations, affirmative action plan, organizational charts, job descriptions, employee training, FMLA, ADA, succession planning and development of CEEUS personnel policies., • Maintain a current knowledge of all Federal, State, and local laws, regulations and practices related to human resource administration to ensure CEEUS policies and practices are in compliance and serve as the principal source of guidance and counsel in these matters, as well as the coordination of activities related to the investigation and adjudication of related issues., • Develop and implement strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business goals and collaborate with each department in achieving such goals., • Lead organizational change initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness by ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption to operations., • Perform, study, and research human resources, employment law, and management relations to ensure that CEEUS has current information to develop and maintain benefits, policies, and standard practices and procedures for human resources administration and make recommendation changes., • Serve as the Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator. Coordinate with the staff on the implementation of all plans necessary to keep CEEUS in compliance with such programs as well as ensure full compliance with associated laws., • Lead and oversee performance management processes, employee relations, and engagement initiatives to provide guidance on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans to create and foster a positive and productive work environment., • Develop and manage employee recruitment, training, orientation and career development programs to facilitate the selection process, promote productivity, satisfaction, and enhance employee skills and career growth., • Assist in developing and implementing succession planning strategies in collaboration to ensure leadership continuity and talent development., • Prepare department budget which includes financial requirements for the fiscal year., • Manage the retention of the benefit portfolio including but not limited to medical insurance coverage, retirement plans, LTD, and life insurance options., • Monitor and analyze Human Resources metrics to assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives., • Supervise and manage day-to-day activities of the Human Resources department while also providing leadership and mentorship to direct reports., • Oversee employee record keeping as to documentation of personnel files, including but not limited to evaluations, disciplinary action, benefit and medical records., • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all human resources related roles and responsibilities., • Oversee Administrative daily tasks and duties including, but not limited to, events, front lobby and companywide communications., • Oversee the Job Training & Safety Coordinator in daily tasks and duties including, but not limited to, safety regulations, Worker's Compensation, and investigations., • Represent CEEUS as needed at organizational conferences and meetings at the local, state, and national levels where objectives of CEEUS can be served., • Other duties as assigned. Working Location and Conditions • Based at CEEUS headquarters in West Columbia, SC, • Standard working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday with 1 hour for lunch, • Standard two 15-minute break periods per day, • Occasional extended hours during open enrollment or compliance deadlines, • Some travel required; including support of our Virginia office and recruiting events. Essential Jobs Functions • Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for up to six hours at a time., • Must possess fine motor skills and finger dexterity necessary for precise and efficient use of a keyboard, mouse, and trackpad in performing job-related tasks for extended periods., • Ability to communicate frequently and clearly in both verbal and written formats., • Must have the ability to see and interpret detailed information, including small text and images, on screens, paper, or other materials, with or without corrective lenses., • Must be able to process complex information, evaluate multiple variables, and apply logical reasoning to solve problems and make informed decisions., • Demands for the position are typical of an office environment and must be met to perform the essential functions of the position., • Frequent presence on the warehouse floor; may require standing, walking, and light lifting, • Visual acuity and manual dexterity to enter data is required., • Frequently sits, stands, and walks., • Ability to stoop, bend at knees and waist, squat, and occasionally lift up to 10lbs.
