The role will support the Institutional Risk function within Client Segment Risk by helping identify, assess, monitor, escalate, and advise on risks across Institutional Consulting Solutions, which include the Corporate Cash, Government Entity, Graystone and Retirement businesses and related institutional client activities. The individual will provide risk advisory support to business partners, assist with the design and enhancement of control frameworks, support governance routines, and contribute to risk reporting and issue escalation. As part of the role, you will also provide support to the Institutional Portfolio Monitoring team, including oversight of institutional client portfolios subject to Investment Policy Statements. This includes reviewing IPS guidelines, translating investment restrictions into monitoring rules, identifying portfolio variances, supporting escalation and remediation, and contributing to the continued strategic refinement of the IPM operating model, workflows, dashboards, reporting, and technology-enabled monitoring capabilities. The role is intended to strengthen Institutional Risk coverage while ensuring the IPM team has additional support for portfolio monitoring, governance, advisory, and strategic enhancement activities. As part of the Institutional Risk team, the individual will: • Develop a broad understanding of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management's Institutional business, including key products, platforms, client segments, support infrastructure, high-risk processes, governance routines, and strategic initiatives., • Provide risk advisory support to Institutional business partners, helping identify, assess, communicate, and escalate risks across products, platforms, processes, and client-related activities., • Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, risk partners, and control partners to analyze, design, implement, and enhance control frameworks across Institutional businesses., • Support risk assessments related to new business initiatives, platform enhancements, technology changes, AI-related buildouts, and other strategic efforts by advising on governance considerations, control design, risk mitigation, implementation readiness, and ongoing monitoring., • Support the IIS Platform BCU support model, including the development, tracking, and reporting of relevant metrics to assess risk indicators, control performance, operational effectiveness, and business readiness., • Conduct account, platform, and process analysis to identify trends, anomalies, emerging risks, potential control gaps, and areas requiring further review or escalation., • Provide data mining, reporting, and analytics support to enhance transparency, inform management decision-making, identify emerging risks, and support timely executive-level reporting., • Support business partners in identifying, understanding, assessing, and self-disclosing risks, including issues that may require remediation, governance review, or escalation., • Review remediation plans and help ensure action plans are appropriately designed, documented, tracked, and completed within target timelines., • Assess risk incidents and support Lessons Learned reviews, including identification of root causes, control enhancements, stakeholder impacts, and follow-up actions., • Support the development, execution, and maintenance of risk assessment processes, including applicable non-financial risk assessment activities., • Assist with internal and external audits, exams, and related requests, including coordination of materials, responses, evidence gathering, issue tracking, and management updates., • Support updates to policies, procedures, standards, supervisory processes, and related governance documentation., • Serve as a governance and risk support resource for billing-related processes, including oversight of billing controls, issue management, reporting, and governance routines, as applicable., • Provide support for strategic initiatives and special projects, including cross-functional efforts, transformation initiatives, business process enhancements, and time-sensitive institutional risk priorities., • Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously, including ad hoc, executive-level, and time-sensitive requests. The role will also provide support to the Institutional Portfolio Monitoring team by: • Supporting the onboarding, oversight, and monitoring of institutional client portfolios subject to Investment Policy Statements., • Reviewing IPS guidelines and translating written investment restrictions, asset allocation requirements, prohibited securities, concentration limits, liquidity requirements, and other portfolio parameters into mathematical, rules-based, or logic-based monitoring criteria., • Helping monitor portfolios through applicable technology platforms, SaaS solutions, internal tools, dashboards, and systemic monitoring processes., • Identifying, analyzing, and escalating portfolio variances to Portfolio Managers, supervisors, Field Risk Officers, business stakeholders, and appropriate risk partners for review, action, and remediation., • Contributing technical and analytical expertise to build, refine, and maintain IPM workflows, dashboards, reporting tools, monitoring routines, and quality control processes., • Assisting with the creation of executive-level reporting, trend analysis, issue summaries, risk metrics, and governance materials related to portfolio monitoring activity., • Supporting the continued strategic refinement of the IPM team, including process design, workflow optimization, escalation protocols, technology enhancements, data quality improvements, reporting standardization, and operating model maturity., • Providing advisory support to stakeholders regarding IPS interpretation, monitoring capabilities, portfolio variance themes, and potential risk considerations., • Following written supervisory procedures and helping ensure monitoring activities align with applicable Firm policies, procedures, and governance expectations., • Partnering with Institutional Consulting Solutions, Institutional Client Segment Risk, Legal, Field Risk Officers, vendors, Financial Advisors, Private Wealth Advisors, Portfolio Managers, Client Service Professionals, and senior leadership., • Communicating complex portfolio, product, IPS, and risk concepts clearly to stakeholders at multiple levels of the Firm.
