Job Description The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is looking for a decisive, dynamic, and innovative Marketing Director who shares our passion for digital advertising and media and is skilled in online media and marketing with proven success in creating successful digital content marketing campaigns and driving engagement for thought leadership work products and leading a team of marketers with expertise and agility. You are a dynamic and passionate individual with a deep understanding of content creation, performance marketing, and a proven track record in digital media and marketing. And you have experience in B2B marketing in the digital media, advertising, and/or ad tech industry. You are a creative storyteller and insightful thinker who thrives on driving successful digital marketing campaigns. You know how to develop and execute strategic marketing and communication plans that increase awareness and consideration of the digital advertising ecosystem. You will be responsible for raising IAB's profile by working hand in hand with the IAB Centers of Excellence and business units to deliver upon key objectives. You will be charged with developing strategic plans to market the initiatives from each center/business unit as well as leading and coaching a team of marketers. You are both a leader and an individual contributor, capable of managing strategic and operational levels. You have experience managing a team and you will work in partnership with functional experts such as a social media lead, a website lead, designers, PR agency, external professional writers, marketing managers, and more to execute the marketing plans. Your enthusiasm for the advertising, marketing, and media industries, coupled with your excellent communication skills, make you an ideal candidate for this role. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, you will manage a team of content marketers, and you will be a key player in strategic planning, driving awareness and engagement for IAB initiatives through your expertise of producing effective and innovative content marketing. What You'll Do: • You will serve as a strategic partner to the IAB business units supported by the Content Marketing team., • You will plan, craft, and execute the digital marketing and communications/PR strategy for IAB thought leadership initiatives, products, and webinars., • You will meet regularly with the Center of Excellence leads – including the Experience Center, the Media Center, and the Measurement Center, and other subject matter experts in AI, Commerce, Creator Economy, and other relevant thought leadership fields for IAB as well as business units such as Research & Insights – to learn about upcoming initiatives, then engage proactively and formulate strategic marketing plans and innovate content marketing ideas to support the initiatives., • You will be responsible for developing and presenting marketing plans to support the IAB Center of Excellence/business units' initiatives, including press, email marketing, organic and paid social media, web pages, advertising, collateral development, signage, and more., • You will produce marketing materials for various initiatives, including white papers, best practice guides, buyer's guides, social media content, videos/sizzles, presentations, and event logos/designs. This involves individually editing/word smithing, highlighting key insights, and working with writers and designers., • You will execute email campaigns using HubSpot email system and Salesforce CRM to drive awareness and engagement across initiatives., • You will meet with IAB’s PR agency regularly to educate them on each center/business unit's initiatives and to formulate strategies to maximize awareness, such as press releases, op-eds, bylines, news jacking, speaking opportunities, and more., • You will oversee press initiatives and drive the narrative in the story, as well as establish and maintain connections between the agency and the relevant IAB subject matter expert for press opportunities., • You will manage a team currently including two marketing managers, a marketing coordinator, and a designer. You will coach them, communicate effectively with your team and internal stakeholders, delegate efficiently, and develop your team for growth., • You will allocate resources efficiently, manage your team’s workload, and be a strategic planner working closely with the PMO team, IAB subject matter experts, IAB members, partners, and the center of excellence operations team. This allows you to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels., • You've been doing what you love for a while. You bring a minimum of 7-10 years of direct experience in marketing and communications, along with a B.A. or B.S. degree., • You have a strategic mindset. You can think broadly, refine your questions, and yet maintain meticulous attention to detail., • You are a proficient and confident communicator with excellent oral/written communication/presentation skills. You love educating and speaking to an audience and have experience presenting marketing plans to large audiences., • You have hands-on mastery of email marketing platforms (HubSpot), CRM tools (Salesforce), design and interactive tools (such as Canva/Flourish), WordPress, Google Ads, Google Analytics, social media posting platforms, or HTML/CSS, and like developing innovative ways, improving processes, and finding new tools., • You love working solo and with a team. You have experience engaging with groups cross-functionally and working solo., • You are a rock star at project management! You have proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with numerous constituents and delivering excellent work with a proactive approach., • You are digitally connected and savvy. You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom), and SharePoint.
