Job Description Job Title: Shop Yard Maintenance / Parts Runner Location: Hampton, VA Reports to: Shop Foreman Major Role and Purpose: • Perform general cleaning of the shop facility and the shop yard. Deliver parts needed for the shop and assigned job locations.Description of Duties:, • Perform general cleaning of the shop facility and the shop yard., • Empty shop trash cans and bins., • Use of a water truck to water down the shop yard for dust control., • Run a sweeper on the road for dust control., • Deliver parts needed for the shop and assigned job locations., • Perform all job duties in accordance with safety regulations and company policies., • Gain an understanding of basic parts, processes, and proper maintenance procedures as instructed by knowledgeable shop staff., • Aid senior level mechanics and shop staff on larger projects., • Participate in training and other learning opportunities., • Perform all other job duties deemed necessary.Education:, • High School Diploma Preferred.Work Experience:, • Previous shop experience and parts delivery experience preferred.Skills Required:, • Effective communication and organization skills., • Must have a valid Driver's License in good standing.Physical Demands:, • Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting., • Walking or standing may occupy the entire day., • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., • Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
