Duties • You will serve as a technical advisor, responsible for maintaining surveillance, reviewing, evaluating, and approving non-nuclear testing aboard nuclear powered ships or submarines undergoing construction., • You will monitor testing in the propulsion plant and all other hull, mechanical and electrical systems, including electrical/power generation, auxiliaries, interior communications, and shore facilities., • You will be the Government representative of a Joint Test Group/Test Task Group, taking required local approval actions for a specific ship or submarine availability test program., • You will provide for technical review and local validation approval of test program documents, including operating and casualty procedures., • You will review, ensure proper annotation, and concur in all test procedures which could affect ship or submarine conditions., • You will ensure preparation for and conduct of propulsion, and Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical test programs meet all contractual, technical, and safety requirements., • You will monitor shipyard and ship compliance with safety and operating instructions and procedures to ensure safe and proper operation of all propulsion and hull, mechanical and electrical systems and components., • You will conduct periodic technical inspections of propulsion plant and associated systems to facilitate the early identification, screening and resolution of deficiencies in propulsion plant spaces., • You will ensure deficiencies are scheduled for correction so required material condition readiness exists in support of day-to-day operations and major key events.
