With year-round events, high on-site traffic, and a growing sponsorship platform, AAG offers brands impactful opportunities through signage, digital and broadcast media, hospitality, consumer promotions, experiential activations, community programs, and cause marketing initiatives. POSITION SUMMARY Arizona Athletic Grounds is seeking a Sales Specialist to join our growing Business Development team. This is an entry-to-mid level role designed for an ambitious, driven individual looking to build a career in sports sponsorship sales — someone who is hungry to prospect, pitch, and close new business while learning the full lifecycle of corporate partnership management. The Sales Specialist will be responsible for generating new corporate partnership revenue, supporting the fulfillment of contracted assets, and helping deliver measurable return on investment for assigned partners. Experience in the Arizona sports market is a plus, but we are equally interested in candidates who bring strong sales fundamentals, a competitive mindset, and a genuine passion for sports and brand partnerships. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES The Sales Specialist will have daily responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: Sales & New Business Development • Prospect and qualify new corporate partnership leads across local and regional businesses in the Phoenix metro and Arizona market, • Conduct outbound outreach via phone, email, and in-person meetings to build relationships with potential partners and generate new revenue opportunities, • Develop and present customized sponsorship proposals, pitch decks, and one-sheets tailored to each prospect's marketing goals and business objectives, • Build and maintain an active sales pipeline, tracking all activity and progress through SponsorCX, • Work toward monthly and annual new business revenue goals in collaboration with the VP of Business Development, • Support the execution and fulfillment of contracted partnership assets for assigned accounts, including signage, digital, media, promotions, hospitality, and on-site activations, • Develop an understanding of each partner's individual business goals and identify opportunities to maximize their investment and deliver measurable ROI, • Assist with producing partner ROI reports and proof-of-performance recaps at the conclusion of campaigns and seasons, • Identify upsell and renewal opportunities within assigned accounts and communicate these to the VP of Business Development, • Serve as a reliable day-to-day contact for assigned partners, providing responsive communication and consistent follow-through Operations & Collaboration • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all assigned partners and prospects within SponsorCX and related systems, • Collaborate with internal teams across marketing, events, promotions, and operations to support partner program execution, • Assist with maintaining asset logs, artwork deadlines, event schedules, and partner communications, • Support the planning and execution of AAG special events and partner hospitality programs, • Work closely with marketing, promotions, and community relations teams to develop activations that meet partner goals and objectives, • Other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS • 1–3 years of experience in sports sponsorship sales, partnership marketing, business development, or a related field — internship and entry-level experience considered, • Experience in or strong familiarity with the Arizona sports market preferred; existing relationships with local businesses and marketing contacts is a plus, • Demonstrated interest in or aptitude for sales — comfortable with outbound prospecting, cold outreach, and building relationships from scratch, • Ability to develop professional proposals, pitch decks, and presentation materials, • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a polished, professional presence in client-facing settings, • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Canva; experience with SponsorCX or a similar CRM platform is a plus, • Collaborative team player who also takes personal ownership of their goals and responsibilities, • Self-starter with a competitive drive, strong work ethic, and eagerness to grow within the sports industry, • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the AAG event schedule EDUCATION • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred), • High School Diploma or GED (required), • Valid driver's license (required) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Must be able to tolerate moderate to loud noise levels and busy event environments, • May work in varying temperature conditions indoors or outdoors, • Walking and standing for extended periods; reaching, kneeling, and bending as needed, • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25–35 lbs, • Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays AZ Athletic Associates, LLC., and Arizona Athletic Grounds are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
