Cityscape’s planning team is 15+ people strong and consists of artists, technicians, photographers, artworkers, etc. We work on a majority of the largest planning applications in London, supporting architects, consultants and developers through all stages of the process, with a variety of products and services. Job Description We are looking for a junior planning visualisation artist to join our planning visualisation team. This opportunity would suit a candidate who is technically strong in 3ds Max, V-Ray and Photoshop. Experience in creating photoreal verified visuals is desirable but not essential. A passion for architecture, excellent attention to detail with strong communication skills is key, as is having the confidence to liaise directly with clients, consultants and architects whilst working as part of our valued team. Roles and Responsibilities Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: General • Producing planning (‘Accurate Visual Representations’ - AVR3) visuals end-to-end: modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering and post-production of visuals., • Working with a small team of visualisation artists and technical staff on a project, • Responsible for adhering to technical accuracy and quality of planning visuals., • Under the guidance of a senior mentor, you will work your way up to leading planning visualisation projects; we believe in people training people, • Seek critique of your own work and take constructive feedback onboard. Workflow and Technical • Work in-line with our established planning structure and set processes, accurate modelling in 3ds Max, translating architect’s intentions into accurate and visually pleasing images., • Making suggestions to implement new workflows and processes., • Adhering to established server, layer and PSD structure., • Ensuring work is completed using best practice in all softwares; seek guidance on settings and workflow., • A desire to standardise and automate tasks is welcomed along with any knowledge of scripting. Project and Client Management • Work with project managers on project delivery and control., • Foster a collaborative working dynamic with external parties, including architects and consultants., • Ensure company communication protocols are followed; face-to-face, phone, email., • Responsible for appraisal of all project information; identify and assess errors, and flagging to relevant stakeholders., • Attend client meetings fully prepared and engage with parties in attendance., • Estimating project timescales and working within time constraints., • Aim to meet or exceed financial targets. Required Experience • Solid production knowledge of 3ds Max & V-Ray: building and landscape modelling, asset organisation, texturing/materials, lighting, rendering., • Excellent knowledge of Photoshop: masking, non-destructive workflows, layer discipline, retouch and grading., • Technical aptitude when working with accurate information and high ability to spot discrepancies., • Knowledge of planning processes and production., • Experience as a visualisation artist: particular experience of ‘verified views’ production is desirable but not required., • Interest in technical accuracy as well as visual quality. Essential Skills • High standard of personal efficiency in 3D and post-production., • Excellent attention to detail., • Fluent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with other staff and external parties., • Keen creative or architectural interests outside of work., • Good time management skills.
