Service Engineer Forklift & Warehouse Equipment Location: North West Role type: Field-based A well-established material handling company supplying and supporting forklift trucks and warehouse equipment to a wide range of customers is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join its team. This role is primarily field based, with some on-site work, and involves maintaining and servicing a fleet of trucks across the North West. The Role As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned servicing and maintenance on a range of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment across customer sites throughout the North West. This is a servicing-focused role, with no breakdown call-outs or repair work required initially. It would suit a hands-on engineer looking to build their experience within the materials handling industry, with full training and support provided to develop their skills across fault-finding, repairs, maintenance and breakdown work as they progress. You will be responsible for: • Servicing and carrying out routine maintenance on a range of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment, • Working on a variety of equipment including electric, LPG and diesel counterbalance, pallet and reach trucks, • Completing planned maintenance and inspections to a high standard, • Carrying out basic checks and identifying any issues requiring further attention, • Representing the company professionally at customer sites, • Managing your workload independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety, • Working closely with experienced engineers and the wider service team to develop your technical knowledge Experience & Skills Essential: • Hands-on engineering experience, • Engineering qualification or apprenticeship, ideally within mechanical engineering, automotive, plant or a similar discipline, • Good practical and mechanical aptitude, • Willingness to learn and develop within the materials handling industry, • Able to work independently in a field-based role, • Full UK driving licence Highly Desirable: • Previous experience working with forklift trucks, plant, agricultural or similar equipment, • Experience with Still or Linde equipment, • LOLER Certification, • Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic or mechanical systems Training • Full training and ongoing support will be provided, • Manufacturer or product training available, • Opportunity to develop from a servicing-focused role into a wider Field Service Engineer position, gaining experience in fault-finding, repairs, maintenance and breakdowns, • Development within the business is encouraged, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer at the start of their career Package & Benefits • £30,000 – £32,000 per annum, • Door-to-door pay, • Overtime available and paid at time and a half or double time, • Company van, • Phone and laptop provided, • Pension scheme, • Death in service benefit Hours • Monday to Friday, • 8:30am – 5:00pm, • Overtime available Tools • Engineers are required to supply their own basic tools, • All personal tools are fully insured by the company, • Specialist tools will be provided by the company If you're interested in this position, please contact Alex Connolly on 01254781300.
