The Welfare & Safeguarding Officer (WFO) is responsible for promoting the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all residents within the accommodation setting. The role focuses on safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, identifying welfare needs, responding to safeguarding concerns, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external statutory agencies to ensure residents receive appropriate support.\nThe WFO will ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed in line with UK legislation,\nHome Office contractual requirements, and organisational safeguarding policies. The role\nrequires proactive welfare monitoring, accurate record keeping, and effective escalation of safeguarding concerns.\nKey Responsibilities –\nSafeguarding & Protection\n• Identify, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns involving children, vulnerable\nadults, and adults at risk.\n• Ensure safeguarding concerns are recorded promptly and escalated in accordance with\norganisational safeguarding procedures.\n• Complete safeguarding referrals to relevant agencies including Local Authority\nSafeguarding Teams, Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH), Social Services, and Police\nwhere required.\n• Work in accordance with statutory safeguarding frameworks including the Care Act 2014,\nChildren Act 1989 & 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and the Modern Slavery\nAct 2015.\n• Participate in safeguarding strategy meetings and case discussions where required.\nRisk Identification & Management\n• Monitor residents using risk assessment frameworks including RAG (Red‑Amber‑Green)\nrisk rating systems.\n• Escalate high‑risk cases to the Safeguarding Manager or relevant safeguarding leads.\n• Support the development and implementation of individual risk management plans for\nvulnerable residents.\nIncident Management\n• Respond to welfare incidents and safeguarding concerns occurring on site.\n• Complete Incident Reports (IRs) and ensure all incidents are documented accurately.\n• Liaise with site management and security teams during incidents.\n• Ensure appropriate follow‑up action is taken after incidents occur.\nMulti‑Agency Working\n• Develop effective working relationships with external stakeholders including Local\nAuthority Safeguarding Teams, NHS services, Police, Social Workers, and charities.\n• Attend professional meetings where residents require coordinated support.\nResident Engagement\n• Build positive and professional relationships with residents to encourage trust and\nengagement.\n• Provide guidance on accommodation rules, expectations, and support services available.\n• Support residents in understanding safeguarding and reporting concerns.\nRecord Keeping & Compliance\n• Maintain accurate and confidential records relating to welfare checks, safeguarding\nconcerns, and incidents.\n• Ensure records comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.\n• Contribute to safeguarding audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.\nWhat We Offer\n * Company car provided and petrol card provided\n * 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)\n * Flexible scheduling: choose your own 5 consecutive workdays\n * 42.5 hours/week between 8am–9pm\n * Training provided to support your success\nWhat We’re Looking For\n * Extensive experience in welfare, safeguarding, housing, or support work\n * Full UK driving licence\n * Full-time availability\n * Strong communication skills and an empathetic approach\n * Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic caseload\nIf you are interested, please apply asap with your cover letter and CV, please highlight all the relevant safeguarding experience you have
