Maintenance Operative – Student Accommodation Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team at our student accommodation facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our premises by conducting various maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and performing necessary repairs. This role requires expertise in boiler house operations, plumbing, and electrical systems. Duties: - Conduct routine maintenance tasks on equipment, systems, and building infrastructure - Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues - Repair and maintain machinery, including welding when necessary - Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure efficient operations - Utilize logic controllers and read electrical schematics for troubleshooting and repair - Provide excellent customer service to our student residents and internal departments - Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes Qualifications: - Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in boiler house operations, plumbing, and electrical systems - Proficiency in using logic controllers and reading electrical schematics - Leadership skills to effectively supervise and coordinate maintenance tasks - Excellent customer service abilities, particularly in a residential setting - Ability to maintain and repair equipment efficiently and effectively - Welding experience is a plus - Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal - Previous experience in student accommodation or hotel settings is highly desirable - Must have a car/ reside in the local area for easy commute and emergency response - You must have your own maintenance tools Join our team as a Maintenance Operative and contribute to the efficient operation of our student accommodation facilities. You can be called upon within an hour to a week notice period. Working hours from 5 to 40 hours a week -You might be a loading household, office furniture and other items in and out of Van. It’s not your average 9-5 pm job. Work time is at random. So flexibility is a must. Applicate should be 25 years old and above. You will need to be self-employed registered.
