Senior Finance Business Partner - Westminster, SW1A0PW We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Office at the House of Lords. This is a position where you will add value by supporting the Finance Director and Head of Finance Business Partnering in providing good financial management and ensuring effective budgetary control and value for money for Parliament. You will utilise your finance expertise and provide high quality information, support, advice and constructive challenge to a range of stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to network across Parliament, as well as gain insight and be involved in exciting projects that are taking place. The reports and financial information that you draft and support on will improve decision-making and help embed best practice and process. We offer the opportunity for flexible working on a hybrid basis. You would need to be flexible and ensure that you are able to attend team meetings on-site and meetings with our stakeholders, enabling you to learn from and get exposure to other areas from within the Finance Office and the wider Parliamentary offices. You'll be accountable for - • Building and maintaining effective relationships with House of Lords budget holders, managers, and other key stakeholders to understand their areas in order to support the delivery of the Administration's priorities including ensuring value for money., • Building and managing effective networks and relationships with stakeholders within the House of Commons and Parliamentary Digital Service, Restoration & Renewal Client Team and all bicameral shared service areas., • The provision and delivery of accurate and timely management accounts and information to House of Lords budget holders and other relevant stakeholders., • The production of regular high-quality insightful reports on budget areas in collaboration with budget holders., • Supporting budget holders and senior managers through the annual planning and quarterly forecasting process, providing constructive challenge., • Supporting the Head of Finance Business Partnering in the formulation and production of robust and taut House of Lords Medium Term Financial Plans and forecasts, partnering with the Business Planning Lead. What we're looking for • You must be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent), • Finance experience and technical skills - Experience of working in a finance environment as a Finance business partner and relevant accounting skills; excellent IT skills, including experience of accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel to advanced level., • Relationship Management - Experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships and networks at all levels, working with internal and external auditors and other key stakeholders., • Analytical skills and problem solving - Strong analytical skills with experience of analysing large volumes of complex data; the ability to identify problems and risks and propose solutions, seeking guidance and support from senior management, where appropriate., • Communication skills - Clear and accurate oral, written, and online communications skills, including the ability to explain complex issues to non-finance colleagues, making them easy to understand., • An understanding of the public sector financial framework as it applies in central government., • 30 days annual leave (increasing to 35 after one years' service), • Generous pension scheme, • Parliamentary health and wellbeing programme, • Make laws, • Check and challenge the actions of the government through questions and debates If you require any reasonable adjustments during the application process, please contact or call .
