Lab Technician(UK) \n Unit 10, West Point Business Park, West Road, Harlow, Essex, CM20 2BU United Kingdom \n \n Responsibilities: \n \n\n • Perform laboratory tasks related to Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), including but not limited to:\n, • Sample extraction (DNA extraction)\n, • Library preparation\n, • Hybridization\n, • Sequencer operation\n, • Perform laboratory tasks related to genotyping workflows, including:\n, • Sample spotting and preparation\n, • PCR amplification and optimization\n, • Fluorescence-based detection and analysis\n, • Carry out routine laboratory activities such as setup and maintenance of equipment, preparation of testing solutions, and daily cleaning and housekeeping activities.\n, • Manage inventory, including:\n, • Monitoring reagent and consumable stock levels\n, • Timely restocking and procurement to avoid disruptions\n, • Accurate tracking of stock movements, including in-stock and out-stock documentation\n\n \n Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS): \n \n\n • Perform DNA extraction from various sample types with high accuracy.\n, • Prepare libraries for sequencing, including quality control and quantification.\n, • Conduct hybridization and enrichment procedures as required.\n, • Operate sequencing platforms (e.g., Illumina, BGI) and ensure data quality control.\n\n \n \n Requirements: \n \n\n • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.\n, • Preferred hands-on experience with NGS workflows, including library preparation and sequencing.\n, • Preferred familiarity with genotyping techniques such as PCR and fluorescence detection.\n, • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate and convey technical information.\n, • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, including inventory management.\n, • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.\n\n
