Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Area: Harrogate, North Yorkshire Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term Rate: GBP90 - GBP120 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm About the School: We are partnering with an excellent special needs school in Harrogate, committed to supporting students with a variety of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. As a SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work closely with a dedicated team to support students in overcoming barriers to learning and ensuring they receive the personalised support they need to succeed. As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a variety of SEN, helping them engage in lessons and activities. Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised learning plans that meet the individual needs outlined in students' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Support students in managing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, helping them develop skills for positive engagement in learning. Collaborate with the SENCO to implement inclusive strategies within the classroom environment. Encourage students to grow in confidence and independence as they progress in their learning journey. What Were Looking For: Experience working with students with SEN, ideally within a school setting. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with additional needs. A passion for education and a commitment to helping students overcome their challenges. The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). To be eligible, you must: Have the Right to Work in the UK. Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application. Provide two professional child-related references.
