Music Teacher – Secondary School Are you an enthusiastic, creative and inspiring Music specialist looking to make a real impact in a vibrant secondary school? We are seeking a dedicated Music Teacher to join our team and nurture a love of performance, composition and musical appreciation in students across the school. About the Role You will deliver engaging and dynamic Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, creating an inclusive environment where students feel confident to explore a wide range of musical styles, instruments and creative techniques. You will also contribute to the wider musical life of the school, including concerts, ensembles, extracurricular clubs and whole-school events. Skills & Qualities Needed • Strong subject knowledge in Music, including performance, composition, theory and listening skills., • Ability to teach a range of musical styles and genres, from classical to contemporary., • Confident practical skills on at least one instrument, with the ability to demonstrate techniques clearly., • Creative lesson planning that encourages participation, collaboration and musical exploration., • Excellent classroom management with the ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities., • Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents., • Ability to assess and track progress effectively, providing constructive and supportive feedback., • Adaptability, resilience and a proactive approach to supporting student wellbeing., • Experience teaching GCSE Music or equivalent qualifications., • Ability to lead or support school ensembles, choirs or instrumental groups., • Knowledge of music technology, including DAWs, recording equipment or digital composition tools., • Willingness to contribute to whole-school events, performances and cross-curricular projects.
