About the Role: Steam Projects Team Leader As Steam Projects Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of temporary steam boiler packages across the UK & Ireland. Covering the full project lifecycle - from site surveys and design input to commissioning and aftercare - you will ensure that customer requirements are met with safe, compliant, and efficient solutions. This is a hands-on, technically focused leadership role where you will mentor a small team of field engineers, act as the go-to expert for steam projects and provide technical support to the wider project and sales teams. Key Responsibilities: · Conduct site surveys and assess technical requirements for temporary boiler solutions · Provide design input for steam and feedwater pipework, boiler selection, and supporting systems · Lead commissioning activities prior to customer handover · Ensure all equipment and processes comply with relevant regulations and standards · Offer technical support to colleagues during tenders and project execution · Guide and support field engineers, acting as the technical lead for steam-related queries · Liaise with third-party contractors to ensure seamless project delivery · Maintain strong customer relationships and oversee aftercare services Requirements: · Recognised qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering · Proven project engineering and commissioning experience (steam boilers strongly preferred) · Knowledge of steam systems, pipework, and associated ancillaries · Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance practices · Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics · Broad technical knowledge including relevant pressure system regulations · Proficient IT skills (Office 365; CAD experience beneficial) · Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities · Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively Preferred certifications: BOAS Cat 2 and IGAS 3 What's Offered: · £47,000 - £50,000 base salary + 10% annual bonus · Company car (with option for electric vehicle after lease period) · 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays · Structured career progression within a global engineering group · Autonomy in managing projects and travel schedule · Collaborative team culture with opportunities to work across multiple disciplines Candidate Location: Ideally based in the North East, but flexible for strong candidates.
