We are expanding our Science Club offerings across North London and are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and creative individuals to join our team. Valid Enhanced DBS required 📍 Current Science Club Vacancies We are currently looking for Science Club Educators at the following schools one a week: 📅 MONDAYS - Every week Sept - Dec 📍 Holy Trinity and St. Silas – Camden 📍 St. John Highbury Vale – Islington 📅 THURSDAYS - Every week Sept - Dec 📍 Grasbrook – Stoke Newington 📍 Grasmere – Stoke Newington 📍 Betty Layward – Hackney 📅 FRIDAYS - Every other week Sept - Dec 📍 Holmleigh – Hackney You have the flexibility of choosing your own school for the rest of the term. Your Role • Deliver exciting, hands-on science experiments and activities for children., • Help children explore science through fun, creative and practical learning., • Prepare and organise materials for each session., • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during the club., • Work collaboratively with assistants and the OoberKidsRepublic team., • Follow our club procedures and safeguarding protocols., • Encourage curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. Full training and experiment guidance will be provided, so you do not need to be a science expert to apply. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable and enjoy working with children. The role involves delivering safe, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing. You will travel between service users’ homes and provide support in accordance with individual care plans, risk assessments and agreed outcomes. Main duties and responsibilities • Support service users with personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing, oral care and continence needs., • Administer or support with medication in accordance with care plans, MAR records, policies and competency requirements., • Assist with meal preparation, nutrition and hydration., • Support safe mobility, transfers and the use of prescribed equipment., • Encourage independence and enable people to complete tasks for themselves wherever possible., • Support service users with shopping, appointments and community activities where required., • Observe and report changes in a person’s physical health, emotional wellbeing, behaviour or circumstances., • Maintain accurate, respectful and contemporaneous electronic care records., • Report safeguarding concerns, incidents, medication errors, missed visits and other risks immediately., • Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including appropriate PPE and hand hygiene., • Maintain people’s privacy, dignity, confidentiality and human rights., • Work collaboratively with families, representatives, healthcare professionals and colleagues., • Attend training, supervision, team meetings, spot checks and competency assessments., • Follow lone-working, health and safety, emergency and on-call procedures., • Complete all scheduled visits punctually and remain for the commissioned duration., • Notify the office immediately of delays, absences or any risk of a visit being missed. Essential requirements Applicants must: • Have at least six months’ previous care experience., • Be compassionate, patient, reliable and respectful., • Communicate effectively in spoken and written English., • Be able to produce clear and accurate care records., • Be willing to work alternate weekends., • Be able to work independently and as part of a wider care team., • Understand professional boundaries and confidentiality., • Be willing to complete mandatory training and competency assessments., • Be eligible to work in the United Kingdom., • Complete an enhanced DBS and appropriate safer-recruitment checks., • Be a driver with access to a reliable vehicle where travel between service users is required., • Hold valid business-use motor insurance before undertaking work-related journeys. Desirable requirements • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care., • Previous domiciliary or community-care experience., • Experience supporting people living with dementia, learning disabilities, physical disabilities or long-term health conditions., • Medication-administration experience., • Knowledge of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and person-centred care. Working hours The role may include: • Morning, lunchtime, evening and bedtime visits., • Weekday and weekend work., • Alternate weekends., • Bank holidays., • Additional hours depending on service requirements and availability.
