Washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, grating, and otherwise prepping all necessary ingredients like vegetables, fruits, herbs, meats, and seafood.
Portioning ingredients:
Accurately measuring and portioning ingredients to maintain consistency in dishes.
Food safety compliance:
Adhering to proper food handling and sanitation practices, including rotating stock and checking expiration dates.
Inventory management:
Monitoring ingredient levels and informing the head chef when supplies need restocking.
Basic cooking tasks:
Performing simple cooking tasks like sauteing onions, boiling potatoes, or making basic sauces as needed.
Maintaining cleanliness:
Keeping the prep station and kitchen equipment clean and organized.
Following recipes and instructions:
Carefully adhering to the head chef's recipes and instructions for preparation.
