    Position Title: Dental Nurse Trainee Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Every other Saturday: 9 am to 1 pm About Our Clinic: We focus on promoting preventive dental care for patients of all ages. Our clinic provides both NHS and private treatments. We are a bustling practice with three surgeries, conveniently located near the Metro system and a 10-minute walk from the City Centre. Our private services include Cosmetic Dental Procedures such as Implants, Invisalign (clear braces), Crowns, Veneers, White Fillings, and Teeth Whitening. We also offer both standard and advanced hygiene treatments, including ProphyJet stain removal.     Role Overview The Harrow Dental Practice Ltd is seeking a qualified and dedicated Dentist to join our established dental practice in Hornchurch, Essex. Our practice provides a comprehensive range of NHS and private dental services, including general dentistry, preventive care, restorative dentistry, cosmetic treatments and dental implants. We are committed to delivering high-quality dental care tailored to the individual needs of our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental examinations, diagnosing oral health conditions, developing appropriate treatment plans and delivering a wide range of general and restorative dental treatments. The role involves managing patients' ongoing dental care, promoting preventive dentistry and working closely with our experienced team of dentists, dental hygienists and dental nurses. We are looking for a dentist with excellent clinical skills, sound professional judgement and a strong commitment to patient care, who can contribute to maintaining the high clinical standards and reputation of our practice. Duties • Conduct comprehensive dental examinations, assess patients' oral health and diagnose dental conditions, including tooth decay, periodontal disease and other oral health problems., • Develop and implement individual treatment plans based on patients' clinical needs, medical histories and oral health assessments., • Provide a range of general and restorative dental treatments, including fillings, crowns, bridges, root canal treatments, tooth extractions and other appropriate dental procedures., • Interpret dental X-rays and other diagnostic information to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning., • Deliver preventive dental care and provide patients with professional advice on oral hygiene, dietary habits and maintaining long-term oral health., • Assess and manage patients presenting with dental pain, infections and other dental emergencies, providing appropriate treatment or referrals where necessary., • Explain diagnoses, treatment options, associated risks and costs to patients, ensuring informed consent is obtained before treatment., • Monitor patients' progress following treatment and arrange appropriate follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care., • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records, including examination findings, diagnoses, treatment plans and procedures undertaken., • Work closely with dental hygienists, dental nurses and other dental professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure the effective delivery of dental services., • Identify cases requiring specialist dental treatment and arrange appropriate referrals for orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery or dental implants., • Ensure all clinical procedures comply with General Dental Council (GDC) standards, Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, infection prevention and control procedures, and relevant health and safety regulations., • Keep up to date with developments in dentistry and participate in continuing professional development to maintain and improve clinical knowledge and skills. Who Are We Looking For • A recognised degree in Dentistry (BDS, DDS or equivalent)., • Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) and eligibility to practise dentistry in the UK., • Relevant clinical experience in general dentistry, including dental examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning and restorative dental procedures., • Experience in providing both NHS and private dental treatments would be desirable., • Strong clinical judgement and the ability to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred dental care., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain dental procedures and treatment options clearly to patients., • A compassionate and professional approach to patient care, particularly when treating anxious patients or those requiring additional support., • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage patient appointments, treatment plans and clinical records effectively., • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with dental nurses, hygienists and other members of the dental team., • A commitment to maintaining high professional standards, patient confidentiality and continuing professional development.
