Job Title: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Location: Mental Health Service Reports to: Charge Nurse Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 per annum Job Purpose To deliver high-quality, safe, and person-centred mental health nursing care as part of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will assess, plan, implement, and review care, ensuring compliance with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, NMC Code, and organisational policies. Key Responsibilities Deliver prescribed nursing care to a defined caseload in partnership with patients and the MDT Assess, plan, implement, and review care plans, including risk, physical health, and engagement plans Act as Named Nurse, maintaining regular therapeutic contact with patients Ensure care plans reflect patient choice, consent, and capacity Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in mental or physical health Administer and manage medication in line with Medicines Management policies and NMC standards Contribute to ward rounds, CPA meetings, and MDT discussions Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records Support, supervise, and delegate tasks to healthcare assistants as appropriate Promote a safe environment and adhere to safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures Clinical Governance & Compliance Work within the Mental Health Act 1983/2007 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 Adhere to CQC standards, organisational policies, and confidentiality requirements Participate in audits, risk assessments, and incident reporting as required Leadership & Development Participate in supervision, appraisal, and revalidation Undertake mandatory and role-specific training Support and mentor junior staff where required Person Specification Essential: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration Minimum 6-12 months post-registration experience Good knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and NMC Code Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
