Senior Legal Counsel - In House 📍 Cheltenham (2 days per week in office – Monday & Wednesday) 💷 £60,000 + excellent benefits 🏡 Hybrid working | 🤝 Supportive culture | 🚀 Strategic in-house exposure The Opportunity ✨ An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a highly collaborative and commercially focused in-house legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, this is a genuinely broad and strategic role offering exposure across commercial contracts, procurement, technology, data governance, strategic projects, and regulatory matters within a complex and fast-paced environment. This is far more than a traditional contracts role. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, support major procurement and transformation projects, advise on legal and commercial risk, and act as a trusted advisor across multiple functions. The organisation is looking for someone who thrives in a fluid in-house environment where priorities evolve quickly, commercial judgement matters, and no two days look the same. Key Responsibilities 📌 • Provide commercially focused and pragmatic legal advice across the organisation, • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of complex commercial and technology contracts, • Support major procurement projects and strategic business initiatives, • Represent legal on key cross-functional projects and project boards, • Advise on GDPR, data protection, and wider data governance matters, • Review and advise on data flows, data-sharing arrangements, and data-related contractual risks, • Support procurement and supplier contract negotiations, • Analyse legal and commercial risks and recommend proportionate mitigation strategies, • Advise on marketing consents, customer data usage, and regulatory guidance, • Provide legal support on complaints, fraud, verification, and operational matters, • Advise on consumer law, competition considerations, and data ethics, • Develop and maintain contract templates, legal guidance, and standards, • Build strong relationships across the business as a dependable and commercially minded advisor, • Support and collaborate with wider legal and governance colleagues where required About You 👀 We’re looking for a qualified solicitor with strong commercial legal experience and the confidence to operate autonomously within a broad in-house role.
