MEP Construction Manager | to £100,000 | London | M&E | Permanent Some people in M&E love living inside a single job for two years. Others get itchy feet. This role is for the latter. The company is a well-established M&E subcontractor delivering complex projects across London - mainly commercial offices and data centres. They are looking for someone to sit between the commercial team, pre-construction and the ops guys – holding everything together to get projects over the line. You will typically have multiple projects on the go at any time, often at different stages of delivery. You will need to balance your time accordingly and make sure programmes make logical and fiscal sense, subbies are behaving themselves and the numbers all stack up by the time jobs come to an end. This is very much a role for someone who has been there, seen it and done it in a practical sense, with an elite understanding of the realities involved in M&E project work. Chances are you’ve come through the ranks, taking in project management, constriction management and supervision, naturally progressing to coordinating multiple jobs. Critically, your instinct will instantly know the difference between a programme that works on paper and one that will actually translate to site. What We’re Looking For • Proven experience as a construction or fit-out Project Manager, ideally within hospitality or F&B, • Background from a consultancy or construction environment, rather than infrastructure, tech, design or events, • Strong understanding of commercial kitchens, including HVAC, M&E coordination, and operational requirements, • Experience delivering high-quality interior fit-outs across hospitality, retail, leisure, or F&B, • Confident managing contractors, consultants, and client-side stakeholders, • Commercially astute, with strong cost control and value engineering experience, • Solid knowledge of health and safety legislation and construction compliance, • Organised, proactive, and comfortable running projects with autonomy, • CSCS and SMSTS desirable, • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally Why Apply You’ll be part of a growing consultancy working on premium hospitality and F&B projects for well-known brands. We’re specifically looking for someone who is hands-on in construction-led interior fit-outs, comfortable working on live sites, coordinating contractors, and managing the technical realities of hospitality and F&B environments, including commercial kitchens, HVAC, and M&E coordination. This is also not a design or kitchen consultancy role. While you’ll work closely with designers and specialist consultants, the focus is on project delivery, build quality, cost control, and programme management, rather than design authorship. Your Role • Leading the execution of all MEP installations across designated zones of the project., • Translating blueprints into efficient field execution using Time & Motion analysis., • Monitoring cost versus allowable outputs and reporting effectively to line managers., • Ensuring QA/QC requirements are met — we aim for zero repeat works and flawless delivery., • Coordinating with Supervisors, Foremen, and QA/QC Engineers to roll out method statements and risk assessments in line with company and consultant standards., • Keeping schedules tight by ensuring timely availability of materials and tools., • Managing site documentation: marked-up drawings, progress updates, RFI registers, and more., • Escalating key issues that need senior intervention while maintaining control of daily site priorities.
