Role Overview The Commercial Business Partner is accountable for protecting margin, managing commercial risk, and enabling sustainable growth across their aligned business areas. The role acts as a commercial authority, providing challenge, guidance, and governance across sales, delivery and client engagement decisions. The role is responsible for ensuring a high level of service to customers and regional office employees related to driving the business forward whilst focusing on Profitability and Risk Management. The CBP must develop strong relationships with their partners in the Senior Sales teams to provide financial support and analysis. They will act as an escalation point for the individuals that they support on office or client related issues. It is imperative that the CBP understands and embraces TEKsystems’s internal culture and drives it through their work with both Sales and Corporate Services teams. Key Responsibilities • Act as a trusted commercial partner to the Sales organisation, providing insight, challenge and guidance, • Own issue resolution and act as the key link between Sales and Corporate Services, • Coach Sales leaders on commercial and financial acumen, • Identify, assess and escalate commercial and regulatory risk, • Partner with Corporate Services (Finance, Legal, Tax, IT, HR, Facilities) to support regional operations, • Provide commercial input and challenge into key business decisions, • Actively participate in the annual budgeting and planning process, • Own target setting, performance reporting, and variance analysis, • Produce accurate forecasts and support corrective actions to achieve goals, • Deliver commercial insight across markets, clients, risks, and opportunities to inform strategy, • Support contract negotiations, partnering with Sales, Legal, and Sales Support, • Engage directly with clients to support negotiations, issue resolution, and relationship management, • Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement to improve efficiency and effectiveness, • Understanding and responding to risk – knowledge of laws, regulations applicable to the organisation, • Support contract negotiations, acting as a key commercial link between Sales, Legal, and Sales Support teams, • Client interaction – face to face meetings, negotiation, issue resolution, relationship building and maintaining a high standard of customer service, • Proactively identifies process gaps and needs, creates efficiency, and drives change for effective and efficient operations Knowledge and skills: • BSc/BA degree or similar further education (ideally in a Business or Finance related subject), • 4 + years post graduate experience in Operations, Commercial or Business Partnering role, • Experience in developing governance frameworks, • Good basic financial acumen (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet) and understanding of financial modelling, contract pricing and differing pricing models., • Experience of Financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting etc., • Experience providing high standards of service to customers, • Impeccable written and oral communication, • Advanced MS Office skills (in particular Excel and PowerPoint), • Comfortable leading negotiations on legal and commercial agreements (desirable), • Knowledge of the legal environment relating to recruitment and provision of services (desirable), • Any financial qualification or legal qualification is not a requirement, however, would be beneficial for the role.
