Aureos are looking for an experienced and proactive NRSWA Street Works Manager to take ownership of all streets works activity across our operational Wessex area working with our prestigious clients. This is a key role ensuring we remain compliant with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), deliver high-quality reinstatements, manage permits effectively, and maintain strong relationships with local authorities and contractors. You’ll be the central point of expertise, driving performance, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction through effective planning, monitoring, and communication. This is a 3 month fixed term role. Key Responsibilities: Street Works Compliance & Governance • Ensure full compliance with NRSWA, the Traffic Management Act (TMA), HAUC requirements, and all local authority stipulations., • Oversee all permits, notices, TTROs/TTRNs, ensuring timely submission, variations, and closures., • Conduct regular audits on site performance, reinstatements, and documentation., • Manage Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs), Section 74 charges, overruns, and defects, reducing cost exposure. Operational Leadership • Coordinate and support field teams, contractors, and supervisors to ensure high standards of reinstatement and traffic management., • Lead daily/weekly reviews of work progress, street works risks, and compliance issues., • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across planning, reinstatement strategy, and operational delivery. Stakeholder & Local Authority Engagement • Act as the main point of contact for all Highway Authority escalations, meetings, and inspections., • Build strong, transparent working relationships with councils, utilities partners, and internal teams., • Resolve disputes, challenge incorrect charges, and negotiate practical solutions to keep works progressing smoothly. Customer & Performance Management • Track and report key performance metrics including permitting compliance, FPN trends, reinstatement defects, and productivity., • Identify and quantify customer-impacting works, ensuring proactive communication and improved satisfaction., • Support customer service teams with technical insight and resolution of street works related queries. Requirements Essential • Strong knowledge of NRSWA legislation and street works processes., • Experience managing permits, reinstatements, traffic management, and compliance., • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills., • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive performance improvements., • Ability to work in a fast-moving operational environment and make confident decisions., • Proficiency in Excel and the ability to produce clear dashboard-style reporting for senior managers. Desirable • NRSWA Supervisor accreditation (Units 001–016) or equivalent., • Experience within utilities, highways, or civil engineering operations., • Understanding of GIS systems, permitting software (e.g., Street Manager), and compliance reporting tools.
