This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Electrician who is passionate about delivering high-quality electrical installations and contributing to the development of sustainable energy solutions. The successful Qualified Electrician will work on a variety of projects, including EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy systems, and electrical installations, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.Role OverviewYou will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of domestic electric vehicle charging equipment across South Wales. The role will primarily focus on domestic EV charger installations, ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and in accordance with BS7671, the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation, Building Regulations, and company procedures. The successful candidate will also support the Senior Electrical Supervisor and wider engineering team with commercial EV charging infrastructure projects, Solar PV installations and battery storage systems as required. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious electrician looking to develop their skills within the rapidly growing electric vehicle and renewable energy sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, test and commission domestic EV charging equipmentCarry out site surveys and pre-installation assessmentsComplete electrical testing, inspection, and certification of completed installationsSubmit all required installation photographs, test results, certification, and job documentation in accordance with company proceduresEnsure all installations comply with BS7671, OZEV requirements and company standardsDiagnose and rectify faults on EV charging systemsCarry out general domestic electrical works as required, including consumer unit upgrades, EICRs, additional circuits, lighting installations, socket installations, fault finding, remedial works and minor electrical repairsDeliver exceptional customer service and always represent our client professionally, providing excellent customer serviceMaintain all company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good conditionSupport the Senior Electrical Supervisor with commercial EV charging installationsAssist with Solar PV and battery storage projects as requiredParticipate in ongoing training and development programmesFollow company health and safety procedures, RAMS, and Safety Culture reporting requirementsAttend team meetings, toolbox talks and company training eventsEssential Qualifications & ExperienceNVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalentAM2 qualification18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)Level 3 Inspection & Testing qualification (2391, 2394/2395 or equivalent)EV Charging Installation qualification (City & Guilds 2921 or equivalent)Minimum 2 years' experience installing EV charge pointsExperience installing and commissioning domestic EV charge pointsAbility to complete electrical certification independentlyStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsFull DBS checkFull UK Driving LicenceExcellent communication and customer service skillsDesirable Qualifications & ExperienceSolar PV installation experienceLCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Commissioning of EV Charging Equipment (mandatory qualification from October 2026)Battery storage installation experienceExperience supporting commercial EV charging projectsOZEV grant experienceNAPIT registered electricianECS Gold CardExperience using ServiceM8 or similar job management softwareExperience installing Ohme, Hypervolt, Hive, Andersen, Zappi, Indra, and Project EV chargersBenefitsCompetitive salaryCompany electric vanEV TesterEV charger installed at homeEV charging cardCompany pension schemeOngoing training and development coursesIndustry-recognised qualifications funded by the companyCareer progression opportunitiesCompany events and team activitiesCompany uniform and branded PPEOptional overtime and Saturday work availableTPBN1_UKTJ
