About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the quality of education within a specialist setting. As Assistant Headteacher, you will drive excellence in curriculum design, teaching, and learning, ensuring all pupils—particularly those with complex needs and SEND—receive a high-quality, engaging, and inclusive education. You will work closely with senior leadership to raise standards, improve outcomes, and create a culture of continuous improvement. About the Provision This well-established specialist setting supports young people aged 11–19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The provision offers a nurturing, structured environment with small class sizes and highly personalised support. It is committed to helping students re-engage with education, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and in life beyond school. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of an ambitious, accessible, and engaging curriculum tailored to pupils with SEND and complex needs Ensure delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, including core subjects and vocational pathways Monitor and evaluate teaching quality through observations, work scrutiny, and feedback Use data and assessment effectively to identify gaps and drive targeted interventions Support and develop teaching staff through coaching, mentoring, and professional development Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the school. About You Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Proven leadership experience in curriculum development and raising teaching standards Strong understanding of assessment, curriculum design, and evidence-based teaching practices A confident and inspirational leader with the ability to motivate and support staff Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Data-driven, with the ability to translate insight into impactful action Why Apply?
