Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer – PCB Process Location: Rochester Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: • Owning and developing PCB processes including SMT, Wave and Selective Solder, Hand Solder, Press Fit, Cleaning, AOI, X-Ray, and Conformal Coating, • Creating and maintaining manufacturing plans, routings, and work instructions, • Generating and optimising machine programs such as SMT placement and AOI, • Providing day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting on the shop floor, • Driving continuous improvement focused on Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery Essential: • Strong technical background in Printed Circuit Board manufacture and hands-on understanding of shop-floor challenges, • Knowledge of IPC standards (e.g. IPC-A-600 and IPC-6010), with the ability to interpret, apply, and enforce requirements within an aerospace quality framework, • Recognised UK engineering qualification, e.g. HNC/HND or BEng (Hons) in Electrical, Electronic, or Manufacturing Engineering, • Formal IPC certification (e.g. IPC-A-600 or IPC-610) As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Manufacturing Engineering team: The Manufacturing Engineering team play a pivotal role in supporting the manufacture of current and future products across our entire product range and the full programme lifecycle. Working closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing and Engineering, the team use their knowledge and experiences to support our manufacturing systems and processes during initial bid, new product introduction, production and repair to ultimately ensure product quality is met within schedule and budget targets.
