Job Title:\nSenior Engineer – Systems Engineering (Architecture) \n Location: Barrow-in-Furness,\nFilton or Portsmouth. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible\nworking arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about\nthe options for this particular role. \n Salary: Circa\n£45,000 What you’ll be\ndoing: • Applying your\nsubject matter knowledge and domain experience to support the\nEngineering Managers and Sub-System Technical Leads in delivering control systems and products to\nthe submarine build programme to agreed time, cost and quality in\naccordance with project milestones, • Working\ncollectively in a team, developing customer requirements, system\nmodels, use cases and design solutions\n, • Ensuring design proving evidence is comprehensive,\ncaptured within the requirements management tools and has been\nendorsed by the appropriate level of authority\n, • Understanding the contractual and performance\nrequirements for systems and support the definition and associated\nacceptance criteria through design, build, integration,\ninstallation, and commissioning activities\n, • Reviewing relevant supplier documentation and ensure it\nis captured and recorded appropriately\n, • Supporting the development of estimates for the scope of\nwork and resources required to deliver it to support bids, proposal\ndevelopment and project planning activities for various\nsystems Essential: \n • Degree level qualification (or equivalent\nexperience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/\nScience), • Incorporated Engineer or ability to\nachieve Incorporated Engineer Status, • Knowledge\nof Systems Engineering process and practices in the defence,\nmaritime or closely linked industry\n, • Demonstrable experience of the engineering\nlifecycle The Ocean Interfaces\nteam: This team sits within SSNA,\ncontributing to the development of deployable assets for the future\nattack nuclear submarine. The team tackles global challenges and delivers design\nsolutions by collaborating closely with customers and suppliers. As\nthe AUKUS Submarine programme progresses, SSNA is evolving into a\ntruly global platform including development of novel technology.\nWith designs advancing and orders for long-lead items being placed,\nthis is a pivotal time to make an impact.
