Early Years Family Practitioner Role Overview • Location: Children’s Services Department, • Job Type: Full-time, • Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, • Grade: F, • Salary: £16.08, • Location: Hybrid We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Family Practitioner to support parents and carers, focusing on improving the home learning environment to prevent any developmental gaps or emerging needs in children. This role involves increasing parents' knowledge of early education and promoting free funding entitlements for children aged 2 to 4 years. The practitioner will deliver early years preventative, evidence-based interventions and support services aligned with the Early Years Delivery Model. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Undertake a universal assessment for all children at 18 months old to improve early identification of needs around language development, physical development, and social, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing., • Work with children and families with identified emerging needs at a preventative level, providing interventions and home learning support using the Early Years Delivery Model., • Increase the uptake of funded places for 2-year-olds by working with families who have yet to take up their free place., • Establish and maintain relationships with parents, supporting them through activities and delivering evidence-based parenting sessions., • Observe, assess, and enhance the development and behaviour of children, focusing on school readiness and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)., • Prepare clear and concise reports on individual children and families' progress as required., • Communicate and collaborate with a range of professionals and agencies to ensure a seamless service for children and families., • Manage the effective use and maintenance of equipment and resources, including occasional opening and closing of buildings., • Support, mentor, and supervise students and volunteers across a range of service delivery. Skills & Qualifications: • Relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g., NNEB, NVQ3, BTEC in Early Years, Childcare)., • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all service users., • Thorough knowledge of the EYFS and its practical application in children’s learning and development., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to promote effectiveness., • Understanding of Child Protection procedures and the ability to act upon suspicions or disclosures of risk of significant harm and abuse., • Experience in supporting families in using community services and maintaining social relationships.
