The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is fundamental to our operations – they’re the ones keeping vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, you’ll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. You'll help to keep your colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. You’ll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites’ equipment to make sure it’s working safely. You’ll respond promptly to breakdowns, investigation, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You’ll also make suggestions for long-term improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you’ll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks and will liaise with contractors if you need external expertise. You’ll work on a range of shifts to make sure our sites are supported around the clock – allowing Amazon delivery at speed. This post will involve in-patient, out-patient and on-call emergency work at King’s Mill Hospital as well as out-patient work at Newark Hospital. Our department currently has three base wards for in-patients at King’s Mill Hospital with an eight-bedded respiratory support unit to allow acute and chronic non-invasive ventilation. The over-riding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement. Respiratory outpatient clinics are held at King’s Mill and Newark Hospitals as well in the Ashfield and Mansfield Community Hospitals. As well as general Respiratory out-patient clinics, we have also sub-specialist clinics for Lung Cancer, Interstitial Lung Disease, Sleep/Ventilators, COPD, TB and Bronchiectasis. We sees approximately 2600 new outpatients per year and over 6400 follow up patients. There are bronchoscopy sessions at both King’s Mill Hospital and in Newark. We also perform Endobronchial ultrasound, Thoracoscopy and indwelling pleural catheters at King’s Mill. We support pulmonary rehabilitation and oxygen services at three sites across mid-Nottinghamshire. We have excellent clinical support from 10 respiratory physiologists with access to full pulmonary function tests, exhaled nitric oxide, exercise tests and muscle strength tests. There are also facilities for in-patient and out-patient sleep studies, with 4000 patients under follow-up for sleep disorders. We also organises the community oxygen assessment programme. We are well served by the Radiology department with 2 consultants who specialise in Chest Radiology. We have weekly support from the tertiary oncology centre in Nottingham with 2 oncologists and a thoracic surgeon attending our local MDT. We have 3 lung cancer specialist nurses and 3 respiratory specialist nurses. This position involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and optimizing the design process to enhance system reliability and performance. • Design Coordination: Collaborate with primary design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive secondary system designs., • Technical Specifications: Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for substation secondary systems, including protection, control, and communication systems., • Drawings Preparation: Prepare interface circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, block diagrams, and room layouts., • Calculations: Calculate battery sizes, voltage drop and cable sizing., • HV Equipment Familiarity: HV plant equipment at 132kV, 275kV, and 400kV for AIS & GIS substations., • SCADA Systems: Knowledge of SCADA systems and I/O interface., • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry and client standards, regulations, and company policies mainly in UK., • Project Management: Manage design scope secondary design, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints., • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential design and implementation challenges., • Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in design processes and technologies., • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies., • Site Visits: Willingness to travel for site visits and site surveys, primarily within the Working as part of a Team and reporting to the Project Principal or Principal Engineer, we are ideally looking for candidates who are Chartered, along with: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field., • Experience: Good level of experience in secondary system design within the HV power industry., • Technical Skills: Very good knowledge of protection and control systems, and familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
