Roles and Responsibilities of a Home Care Carer 1. Personal Care Assistance - Helping clients with daily hygiene routines: bathing, toileting, oral care, and dressing - Supporting mobility: helping with walking, using mobility aids, or transferring from bed to anywhere - Assisting with incontinence care and changing of continence aids. 2. Health Monitoring and Medication Support - Assisting with medication reminders or administration (as per training and regulations) - Observing and reporting changes in health, behavior, or mood - Supporting rehabilitation exercises as advised by therapists 3. Meal Preparation and Feeding - Preparing meals based on requirements as per clients - Assisting with feeding oral / PEG - Monitoring food and fluid intake 4. Household Duties - Light cleaning and tidying - Laundry and ironing - Grocery shopping and managing supplies - Ensuring the living environment is safe and comfortable 5. Emotional and Social Support - Providing companionship and conversation to combat loneliness - Encouraging hobbies and daily engagement - Supporting emotional well-being and being a listening ear 6. In this role, you will be supporting our service users to live independently in their own home with their activities of daily living, e.g. helping with personal care, medication, accessing the community. Candidates must be attentive, flexible, patient, with the ability to work to a high standard for the duration of duty. We work with a variety of vulnerable adults including elderly, people with learning disabilities, mental health issues as well as those with complex needs e.g. ranging from Brain or Spinal Injuries, Epilepsy, Tracheostomy and Ventilation, to PEG feeding.
