The Role As our current Chief Quantity Surveyor has stepped down to a part-time role prior to retirement, we are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead and manage our Quantity Surveying team and drive cost management across all projects. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Managing Director, where you will mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors, survey projects, oversee commercial performance, support project delivery teams in contract administration, and ensure compliance. Your expertise will shape procurement strategies, manage high-value contracts, and influence business decisions at a high level. A Day in the Life Your day will combine strategic leadership with hands-on commercial oversight. You’ll set departmental priorities, review budgets, and provide accurate forecasting to the management team. You’ll lead negotiations on high-value contracts, resolve disputes, and ensure robust risk management. You’ll work closely with Contracts Managers, Engineers, and clients to ensure projects deliver maximum value and timely completion while maintaining compliance with legal, safety, and quality standards. Measuring Success Success in this role means delivering strong leadership that optimises project profitability, strengthens client relationships, and supports the strategic growth of the business. This role also offers the opportunity to shape the QS function and influence future commercial strategy, with potential for career progression. Working Hours & Remuneration This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You’ll receive a competitive senior-level salary with a company car. You will automatically enroll in our company pension scheme and receive 33 days' holiday, including bank holidays. You will be included in our annual bonus scheme linked to company performance.
