Reports to: Procurement Manager / Joinery Manager Role Overview The Store person is responsible for the efficient day‑to‑day management of the company’s stores, supporting construction sites and the joinery workshop. The role ensures accurate control of goods in and goods out, stock integrity, and timely delivery of materials to site. The Store person works closely with the Procurement Team, Project Managers, site teams, and external transport providers, maintaining accurate records. Key Responsibilities Goods Inwards Receive, inspect, and check all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes Ensure materials are correctly labelled, stored, and handled safely Record all receipts accurately within Microsoft Dynamics NAV Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the Procurement Team promptly Goods Outwards & Site Deliveries Pick, pack, and issue materials for the joinery workshop and construction sites Coordinate deliveries to site in line with project programmes and priorities Liaise with external transport companies to arrange and track deliveries Prepare delivery documentation and ensure proof of delivery is captured Stock Control & Systems • Maintain accurate stock records within Microsoft Dynamics NAV, • Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts, • Investigate and reconcile stock variances with procurement and finance teams, • Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and raise replenishment requirements Liaison & Communication • Work closely with the Procurement Team to support purchasing and stock planning, • Liaise with Project Managers and Site Managers to understand material requirements and delivery dates, • Act as a point of contact between stores, workshop, site teams, and transport providers Health, Safety & Housekeeping • Maintain a clean, organised and safe stores environment, • Ensure safe manual handling and correct storage of materials, • Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures General • Support continuous improvement of stores procedures and processes, • Assist with audits and management reporting as required, • Undertake any other reasonable duties to support operational requirements, • Proactively reduced material waste and costs by controlling surplus/obsolete stock, assessing reuse potential, and preventing unnecessary collection, transport, storage, and disposal Skills & Experience Essential: • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or logistics role, ideally within construction or manufacturing, • Experience managing goods in and goods out, • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, • Ability to liaise confidently with multiple stakeholders, • Competent IT skills, including experience using stock or procurement systems, • Good communication and teamwork skills Desirable: • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV (or similar ERP system), • Understanding of construction materials or joinery products, • Forklift license (or willingness to obtain) Personal Attributes • Reliable, proactive, and well organised, • Able to work under pressure and manage changing priorities, • Practical, hands‑on approach with a strong sense of ownership, • Commitment to safety, accuracy, and high standards
